Dior Perfumer-Creator, Francois Demachy explains “The composition has to be exciting and stirring somewhat wild and yet accessible.” The Iconic Miss Dior was debuted in 1947 and it has a fresh, modern spin to it without erasing its beloved signatures, by softening the levels of Jasmine and Patchouli, emphasizing the rose at the heart to make it sensual and suggestive. The dark, earthy notes are eliminated and replaced by lively and exuberant pink peppercorn and bergamot. Demachy says, “It had to burst like love at first sight, A celebration of love to love!” This sounds so like love and the beauty of love. The top notes of this fragrance are Calabrian Bergamot Essence. The middle or the heart note is Grasse Rose Absolute/Damascena Rose. The base notes are French Guiana Rosewood and Pink Peppercorn. I would love to mention these beautiful lines from the Dior “Love as a Legacy” questionnaire that is so perfect and explains this fragrance in a beautiful way,

Love is a legacy and love is eternal, and when a fragrance smells like love, that has to be something that is youthful, confident, beautiful, lively and alluring. The packaging of this perfume is in a beautiful glass bottle with a very pretty little bow on the cap. I have been wearing it almost daily. I love how fresh and modern it smells. It is not overpowering and is sensual yet lively. The staying power is good, 6-7 hours on my skin without reapplying which is pretty nice. The campaign for this perfume has Natalie Portman in which she poses the question, “And you. What would you do for love?” If you haven't checked it out yet, I would suggest you do so.
