Hair

When it comes to hair care, I am as obsessed with it as I am with my other beauty rituals and routines for skincare and makeup. I keep alternating the products while trying new haircare and do stick to my staples too. I change the products for hair as the weather changes, and also as they say you should be changing the products in order for you to notice the difference and for the chemistry of hair to work on a different level or different way with the other product. By changing the products, I mean changing after a few months and I do not mean always keep on trying new products, I mean to say keep rotating on what works for you. When it comes to haircare brands which I stick to, Leonor Greyl is one of that brand. For my irritated, flaky, sensitive scalp, I was very much excited to try the new launch from the brand, Leonor Greyl Huile Apaisante.

Leonor Greyl Paris Huile Apaisante review, Leonor Greyl Paris Shampooing Crème Moelle de Bambou, Leonor Greyl Paris Masque Orchidee

The roll-on bottle allows for precise application on targeted areas. The formula is fragrance-free and contains no essential oils. This has come as a savior for my scalp this season, and the application is so easy, I have never had to give two thoughts before using it, just grab and apply, then massage lightly. I really like how soothed and calm my scalp feels which is something so important for me, you might understand what I mean if you have scalp issues.

Leonor Greyl Paris Huile Apaisante review, Leonor Greyl Paris Shampooing Crème Moelle de Bambou, Leonor Greyl Paris Masque Orchidee

Leonor Greyl Paris Shampooing Crème Moelle de Bambou is a luxurious blend of bamboo marrow, plant extracts, Vitamin B and silk proteins work together to nourish, detangle, regenerate, smooth down and protect your hair. It is suitable for all hair types prone to dryness and per my understanding, the weather plays a major role here, as winter is approaching, I feel my hair are prone to more dryness.

Leonor Greyl Paris Huile Apaisante review, Leonor Greyl Paris Shampooing Crème Moelle de Bambou, Leonor Greyl Paris Masque Orchidee

My hair feels soft, clean, shiny, healthy, and moisturized (not greasy) after washing with this shampoo.  It is gentle enough to not irritate my sensitive scalp. A little product is all I need for one time and the tube lasts for a long time. I do not use a conditioner with this shampoo, otherwise, it will be too heavy for my hair. And as I mentioned it is hydrating, so it is enough for my normal wavy hair.

Leonor Greyl Paris Huile Apaisante review, Leonor Greyl Paris Shampooing Crème Moelle de Bambou, Leonor Greyl Paris Masque Orchidee

Leonor Greyl Paris Masque Orchidee has Silk proteins, vegetal ceramides, and oils which work together to smooth, detangle, protect and restructure hair fiber. This mask is safe for colored hair.

Leonor Greyl Paris Huile Apaisante review, Leonor Greyl Paris Shampooing Crème Moelle de Bambou, Leonor Greyl Paris Masque Orchidee

It leaves hair soft, silky, and manageable. Not to mention about the heat, styling products, and whatnot we use on the hair, masking the hair is a great way to repair, manage, and protect the hair. I do like to use a mask on my hair weekly or biweekly as a treatment. The mask smells so amazing as the other Leonor Greyl products.

I am really happy with the results of the products, a staple brand in my hair care routine.  I reviewed Regenerescence Naturelle, Creme aux Fleurs, and Bain Traitant a la Propolis in the past and are definitely the products I still love. Glad to have these new additions to my routine. If you want to try the products, they are available in deluxe sizes which are also perfect if you are traveling. Leonor Greyl Paris products are available on Leonor Greyl Paris Website, Net-A-Porter, Cult BeautyNordstrom, and SpaceNK.

With some amazing products from the brand I discovered while browsing online finding the best hair mask for my hair few years till now, there are many products I have tried from Christophe Robin and every time I try a new product from the brand, it amazes me. Christophe Robin Moisturizing Hair Oil with Lavender and Christophe Robin Moisturizing Hair Cream which I reviewed here, and Delicate Volumizing Shampoo with Rose Extract, Delicate Volumizing Conditioner with Rose Extracts, and Instant Volumising Mist with Rose Water which is my all time favorite volumizing hair products and been repurchased twice already and reviewed here. I am sharing my new finds from the brand which are Christophe Robin Regenerating plant oil with rare prickly pear oil and Christophe Robin Hair finish lotion with sage vinegar along with the new launch Christophe Robin Temporary color gel.

Christophe Robin Regenerating plant oil with rare prickly pear oil, Christophe Robin Hair finish lotion with sage vinegar, Christophe Robin Temporary color gel

Christophe Robin Temporary color gel is a temporary coloring gel made from 92% natural-origin ingredients and pure pigments. Adapted to perfectly blend with the natural hair colour, this gel is free from oxidants and ammonia and is mild enough for all hair types. The gel effectively and immediately covers greys with the help of plant extracts that care for and protect delicate locks. Every strand receives even color, although the gel has no root effect and is completely temporary.

Christophe Robin Temporary Colour Gel

Christophe Robin Temporary Colour Gel washes out in five to seven shampoos or treatments, fading naturally to leave an even, sophisticated look. The result is naturally radiant hair that is soft and sleek. It is very gentle and mild on the hair and scalp for all hair types. Each shade was developed and formulated to adapt to any hair color. The range has four shades which makes it simple yet complete to easily choose the right tone. It is advised to opt for the color closest to the natural base of the hair. The temporary color gel is also an ideal alternative for those with allergies to semi-permanent and permanent dyes.

I have a few grays that started showing and I don’t want to start changing my color now. The color comes with an applicator brush which is great to target just what I need instead of doing my full hair and it blends well with the rest of my natural color. It lasts a few shampoos and covers the grays. It makes the hair shiny and soft, like a conditioner and a color at the same time.

Application:

-Wash hair with a silicone-free shampoo such as the Brightening Shampoo with Camomile and Cornflower, the Purifying Shampoo with Jujube Bark Extract or Hydrating Shampoo with Aloe Vera to prep the hair. Do not use any hair masks or conditioners.
-On towel-dried hair, apply the color gel. If covering only a few grays, use the applicator brush for a targeted and natural result. Otherwise, apply it evenly throughout the hair.
-Leave on for 40 minutes.
-To rinse, add a small amount of water, then emulsify by massaging the scalp to help remove excess product. Rinse thoroughly until the water runs clear. Do not wash your hair after rinsing.
-The temporary color gel can be used as often as needed. The reusable kit is suitable for two applications for mid-length hair, or several applications for touch-ups.
-Tip: while using the color gel on the roots or targeted grays, you can apply a mask on your lengths and ends during the leave-in time.

Precautions:
-Avoid applying too much product to the scalp in order to prevent stains.
-Avoid contact with eyes.
-Perform a patch test 48 hours before using, even if you have already used coloring products before.

It has a delicate slightly powdery fragrance leaves a subtle scent on the skin. It can also be used to repair and style very dry, damaged or frizzy hair. I like to use it as an intensive treatment before washing, or as a styling product after washing, in very very small amounts on my dry and frizzy hair. It has been a really nice addition to my haircare routine for its nourishing and protective ingredients, I feel my hair are soft, shiny, and strong. It does not leave any greasiness or oiliness, it is very light, the key is the amount of the product you use. For my medium wavy hair, one pump on the mid-lengths and ends is sufficient. I would like to mention how nice the spray pump it and how light the texture of the oil is, not thick. It is very easy to spread on the hair and skin.

As you might be curious, if you have not read my post on the Christophe Robin Regenerating Mask with Rare Prickly Pear Oil here, Prickly pear seed oil is a rare ingredient with natural regenerating properties and has antioxidants. Fluer Inula in the oil protects, revives the hair pigments, whether they are natural or colored. It has toning and protective action on the skin too. Rice bran oil, sweet almond oil nourishes, soothes and softens.

Christophe Robin Hair finish lotion with sage vinegar

Christophe Robin Hair finish lotion with sage vinegar is a nourishing styling spray also contributes to toned, moisturized and refreshed skin. This hair finish lotion is enriched with herbal vinegar, which comprises a selection of Mediterranean plants such as thyme, sage, rosemary, and lavender. Known to soothe, rebalance and purify locks, these ingredients work together to remove impurities and enhance hair’s shine. Protected, the hair feels clean, lightweight and ever so soft, with a radiant color that lasts.

Christophe Robin Regenerating plant oil with rare prickly pear oil, Christophe Robin Hair finish lotion with sage vinegar, Christophe Robin Temporary color gel

Christophe Robin Purifying Hair Finish Lotion with Sage Vinegar is a leave-in mist. It is formulated without parabens, silicones, ammonia, oxidants, colorants or sodium laureth sulfate. This is something my itchy flaky scalp is really finding helpful, my scalp is soothed, calm, and nourished. It is very lightweight and absorbs into the scalp and skin without leaving an oily residue. I use it as I feel the need, first after washing my hair and towel drying them, I spray twice or thrice from roots to tips. On dry hair, the second day after my shampoo (I wash my hair every two days), I use it as a refresher. On the body, it works to refresh, tone, and soften the skin. I do use it in combination with my body oil or body lotion, as I have very dry skin on the body.

I was traveling last month and did take my staples, Christophe Robin Cleansing Purifying Scrub with Sea Salt and Cleansing Volumizing Paste with Pure Rassoul Clay and Rose Extracts, with me for my vacation. The travel sizes are a great way to try the products and to travel with them. Another new product I took with me was Shade Variation Care Nutritive Mask with Temporary Coloring which is a nourishing and color revival mask for anyone looking to add warmth in natural or color-treated hair. Colored chestnut hair goes brown over time and begins to look unnatural, while natural chestnut hair is often dull or ashy. Enriched with nourishing ingredients—almond butter and buriti oil—and combined with an acidic pH of 4.5, this mask in Warm Chestnut mini minimizes porosity, hydrates hair, fixes natural oxidation, and evenly distributes color. Cocoa butter and the selection of pigments enhance a caramelized hue and create a rich chestnut color throughout the hair.

Christophe Robin Regenerating plant oil with rare prickly pear oil, Christophe Robin Hair finish lotion with sage vinegar, Christophe Robin Temporary color gel

The Baby Blonde mini is a purple treatment mask that neutralizes brassy or yellow tones for light blonde hair. Highlighted, colored, or bleached blonde hair tends to become grey or yellow over time, while natural blonde hair can become dull and lack shine. The nourishing ingredients in this tinting hair mask—almond butter, shea butter, and buriti oil—combined with an acidic pH of 4.5 help minimize porosity, fix natural oxidation, and evenly distribute color. The selection of iridescent pigments and Fiorentina iris neutralizes brassy or yellow tones, restoring the shine, brightness, and contrast of hair color.

The longer you leave this mask on, the more intense your results will be. Feel free to mix with other shade variation masks to create your own custom color nuance.

Christophe Robin Products are something I have recommended you in the past and will advise you to check them.  Christophe Robin Regenerating plant oil with rare prickly pear oil, Christophe Robin Hair finish lotion with sage vinegar, Christophe Robin Temporary color gel is available at Sephora Canada, Saks Fifth AvenueSpace NKNordstrom, and Netaporter.

This review was due a long time back and as I am testing many products at one time, so some reviews get delayed and I do prefer to not share my review until I have tested for sufficient time and I am fully satisfied. The first time I shared about the hair care products I have been using from Miriam Quevedo on my Instagram handle and stories, I got so many messages asking about my thoughts. This is my first time trying this brand, so I will share about the brand first. Miriam Quevedo is an award-winning anti-aging powerhouse in skin and hair care. From rejuvenating hair treatments to customized skin rituals, the cutting edge line transcends modern cosmetic standards. A renowned authority in skincare from a young age, Miriam Quevedo applied her intensive anti-aging techniques for the skin to her hair collections. The precious ingredients include precious, rare, and unique ingredients including White Caviar oil, 24 Karat Gold, Platinum & Diamonds, Exotic Botanicals include Oils, Extracts, and Floral Waters, Cutting-edge Peptides include Hexapeptides, Tripeptides, and Natural Peptides. Miriam Quevedo’s passion lies not only in using the highest quality ingredients but also in achieving the perfect synergy between nature and science for proven results.

I started using Miriam Quevedo haircare and skincare products including Glacial White Caviar Hydra-Pure Shampoo, Extreme Caviar Exfoliating Scrub Scalp Mask, Extreme Caviar Restructuring Luxe Serum for hair and for skincare – Black Baccara Moisturizing Bio-Adaptive Gel Cream and Black Bacarra Dynamic Weekend Peel Booster. I have been using the products since Spring and from the time I shared the post on my social handles in March, I have been getting so much interest to know more, so here I go. The hair care products are almost empty and I do have the skincare products on rotation.

Maison Francis Kurkdjian Baccarat Rouge 540 – when I reviewed this fragrance in detail here, the three words, which of course do not fully explain this fragrance but are very close to what it is – Regal, Elegant, Luxurious. Bringing its incredibly seductive power into play, Baccarat Rouge 540 is now available in a body oil and hair mist. Becoming an alchemy of the senses and an audacious olfactory signature condensed to the extreme, the fragrance now graces the skin and hair in a flowery, ambery,
woody whisper.

Baccarat Rouge 540 Scented Body Oil and Baccarat Rouge 540 Scented Hair Mist

This olfactory adaptation in two new formats remains true to Francis Kurkdjian’s original score: jasmine, saffron, an ambergris accord and a cedar and fir balsam accord unfold in a chorus to offer their finest attire.

Baccarat Rouge 540 Scented Body Oil and Baccarat Rouge 540 Scented Hair Mist

Baccarat Rouge 540 Scented Body Oil

In a delicate and sensual ritual, Baccarat Rouge 540 scented oil (CAD $120) is applied with a gentle caress of the hand to create a fragrant, satiny second skin. Featuring an irresistibly light texture, it blends three oils selected for their natural properties: energizing and antioxidant argan oil, softening and regenerating sweet almond oil and radiance-boosting apricot kernel oil.

Baccarat Rouge 540 Scented Body Oil and Baccarat Rouge 540 Scented Hair Mist

The texture of the body oil is light, non-greasy and absorbs into the skin rapidly leaving the skin satiny smooth and delicately scented. The body oil comes out of the bottle through the pump in a very fine mist and is very easy to use. I like the scent of the body oil, I would say it is perfect for all seasons and the delicate scent lingers on the body for a few hours before it dissipates. To get the more out of it, I would suggest to layer it with the same fragrance. I did not notice any residue or greasiness and the oil absorbs really fast into the skin. I have used it on full body and on the exposed parts of the body and works well either way. If I use it on my heat points of the body and then put the same fragrance over it, it just gives that amazing effect which lasts the whole day.

Baccarat Rouge 540 Scented Body Oil and Baccarat Rouge 540 Scented Hair Mist

Baccarat Rouge 540 Scented Hair Mist

In a light cloud of fragrance on the tresses, Baccarat Rouge 540 scented hair mist (CAD $108) perfumes the hair with its unique whisper and airy, mineral nuances. As it moves, the hair releases a sillage whose power of attraction is magnified.

I have loved a good hair fragrance and when I do not find my favorite fragrance in the hair version, I find myself spraying the fragrance either on my neck near the hair or on my wrists and then touch my hair sparingly with the wrists to have the fragrance blend into the hair. I know it is not right as the fragrance does contain alcohol which is not very good if used daily on the hair. This hair-mist is alcohol-free and that means it will not dry out the hair and is gentle on it. The scent lingers in the hair all day and is not strong but very gentle and delicate.

Baccarat Rouge 540 Scented Body Oil and Baccarat Rouge 540 Scented Hair Mist

I am in love with these two scented products and they are great additions to the Maison Francis Kurkdjian Baccarat Rouge 540 range and they have been my go-to in my everyday routine. I would totally recommend you to check Baccarat Rouge 540 Scented Body Oil and Baccarat Rouge 540 Scented Hair Mist if you are looking for a scented body oil or a scented hair mist. These are available online and in stores at franciskurkdjian.comBergdorf GoodmanNeiman MarcusNet-A-Porter, and Saks Fifth Avenue.

When it comes to hair, I do have to work hard on them. I was blessed with beautiful thick wavy hair until the time I took care of my hair myself, then came the time I had chemical treatments, straightening, and what not which left my hair and scalp in dire need of help. Since then I am very particular in choosing the products and treatments for my scalp and hair. I do moisturize my scalp and hair before and after the wash, something which not only moisturizes but also nourishes and repairs them. I have been using Christophe Robin Moisturizing Hair Oil with Lavender and Christophe Robin Moisturizing Hair Cream.

Christophe Robin Moisturizing Hair Oil with Lavender and Christophe Robin Moisturizing Hair Cream

Christophe Robin Moisturizing Hair Oil with Lavender is an ultra-nourishing and protecting lavender oil treatment suitable for all hair types. The treatment contains a combination of oils which include lavender and palm oil which work to restore the hair’s elasticity leaving it feeling reinvigorated. Damaged hair will be restored to reveal hair that is more manageable, shiny and soft. Contains vitamin E to treat the scalp. Plant oils protect the density and shine of the hair color. Christophe Robin Lavender Oil treatment will protect your hair from the damage caused by the sea, sun and wind and other environmental elements that can damage hair.

I prefer to use this oil as a pre-shampoo treatment to nourish my hair and scalp. The lavender scent also makes it a relaxing ritual. When leaving it overnight, it is very soothing. It is very nourishing, increases softness and shine of the hair, helps prevent breakage, protects against damage caused by environment, restores hair. When using it after washing and drying hair, a little is all I need and gives moisture and shine to the hair plus provides UV rays protection. While using this for over four months almost, I still have almost half of the product left. My hair is soft, shiny, and healthy. The oil is solid at normal tempurature, I keep it under warm water for few moments and it liquifies.

Christophe Robin Moisturizing Hair Oil with Lavender and Christophe Robin Moisturizing Hair Cream

Christophe Robin Moisturizing Hair Cream prevents hair from drying out, repairs split ends on hair damaged by color treatments, heat, over-processing, and restores the hair’s body and shine. This treatment, composed of 97.6% natural oils, helps to restore elasticity in hair fibers and prevents breakage. It also nourishes, moisturizes, and repairs the hair while protecting from sun, salt water, and chlorine. The non-greasy, non-sticky formula is enriched with moisturizing apricot kernel oil and extracts of sandalwood pulp to instantly penetrate into your hair — deeply hydrating it without weighing it down or altering the color. Complete with SPF 6 sun protection, it delivers beautiful shine and a subtle scent. It is formulated without parabens, sodium laureth sulfate, silicones, alcohol, ammonia, oxidants, colorants.

This is one of my favorite hair cream which I have been totally in love. I use it after every wash, either on my towel-dried hair and even after styling my hair, on the mid-lengths and ends. I take a pea-size of the product both on towel-dried and styled hair. It does not weigh down my dry medium fine wavy hair but my hair feels healthy, strong, and not dry. I do feel some shine and texture when using this. This is something I would always like to keep in my haircare routine. The cream does not feel greasy or oily but feels like it coats the hair without weighing it down.

Christophe Robin Moisturizing Hair Oil with Lavender and Christophe Robin Moisturizing Hair Cream are available at Sephora Canada, Saks Fifth Avenue, Space NK, Nordstrom, and Netaporter.
