BareMinerals are known to create innovative products that are powered by nourishing, skin-loving minerals. The products are described to be formulated with purity in mind so the consumer can feel good about everything they make. With a number of cult favorite products from this brand which are loved and appreciated by people around the world, there are new launches which include bareMinerals barePro Performance Wear Liquid Foundation with SPF 20, Good Hydrations Silky Face Primer, Combo Control Milky Face Primer and barePro Contour Face-Shaping Trio which I have been testing for few weeks and finally writing about them in this post now. I am still testing the bareMinerals SkinLongevity Vital Power Infusion which I will be reviewing once I have tested it.
bareMinerals barePro Performance Wear Liquid Foundation with SPF 20
bareMinerals barePro Performance Wear Liquid Foundation with SPF 20 (CAD $42) is the newest foundation from this brand. The Mineral Lock formula provides 24 hours of coverage and the long wear technology mimics the natural lipids in the skin. The finish is natural matte. The formula is creamy and very comfortable to apply and wear.
It is oil, paraben, and fragrance-free, non-acnegenic and non-comedogenic. There are a number of good ingredients in this foundation which provide a good skin care in makeup. Papaya enzymes in this formula help to exfoliate and improve skin’s texture. Bamboo stem extract gives a blurring and soft-focus effect. This foundation is available in 30 shades means quite a good range of all skin shades.
There is a Luxe Performance Brush (CAD $37) which is specifically designed to blend around difficult spots like nose and eyes. The fibers are tightly bound and are hypoallergenic. I have been using the foundation and the brush since last few days regularly and I am quite satisfied with the results. The coverage is great and is buildable based on the requirement. The formula is very creamy and easy to apply, the finish is semi-matte means it does not looks full matte but natural matte.
I am impressed by the staying power, it has stayed well for over 12 hours during the period I tested. I did not experience any irritation or breakouts while using this foundation. I have used it in every way, with the beauty blender, with the luxe performance brush and also with my regular brushes that I use for other foundations and it has not disappointed me. It looks very natural in every way I tried.
I was sent four shades 13 Golden Nude, 16 Sandstone, 15 Sandalwood, 18 Pecan. 15 Sandalwood is the closest match to my medium tan skin tone with yellow undertones. The four shades can be referred as below:
13 Golden Nude – Medium Skin with Warm undertones
15 Sandalwood – Medium/tan skin with warm undertones
16 Sandstone – Medium/tan skin with neutral to warm undertones
18 Pecan – Tan skin with cool to neutral undertones
A primers main purpose is to work with the skin to improve its tone and texture while equalizing its specific needs which can be controlling oil, balancing or hydrating dry skin. Good Hydrations Silky Face Primer (CAD $35) is described to help minimize pores and fine lines. It utilizes the hydrating benefits of hyaluronic acid and a natural sugar in plants that protect against dehydration called Trehalose. There are Mica, Titanium Dioxide, and Silica which provide their mineral properties for luminizing soft focus.
I have used this primer few times and it works well to keep the makeup in place, I had no issues using this and been a nice addition to my primers. The makeup glides on easily with this primer as a base. My skin gets dehydrated time to time and this helped keep it hydrated and not much oily, just the right natural finish.
Combo Control Milky Face Primer (CAD $35) is described to start off as a milky serum and the transforms into an oil-absorbing powder. It is created with a dual purpose in mind for the combination skin type to balance oil and maintain moisture balance. Silica and African Tree Bark extract help to diminish the appearance of pores, soak up excess oil and blur skin imperfections.
The finish is very natural and makes a good base for makeup application. I have combination skin prone to congestion that is sometimes dehydrated too. This primer did not break me out or caused any irritation. The makeup stayed on well with this primer as a base and my skin looked natural and not shiny or oily.
barePro Contour Face-Shaping Trio
barePro Contour Face-Shaping Trio (CAD $42) is described as a trio of blendable, specially calibrated shades that help to flatter the features by three steps – Shade, Blend, and Pop. There are two palettes, Fair to Medium and Tan to Dark available to suit a range of skin tones. Based on the shape of the face, the shades can be used to contour and flatter the features.
The darker shade can be used under the cheekbones to define them and the ‘Blend’ shade can be used to smooth the dark edges. The ‘Pop’ can be used to highlight, under the brow and on the cheekbone. ‘Shade’ can also be used on the jawline to give it a shape and on the sides of your forehead.
All the products are available at Sephora and Sephora Canada. If you ask me which one out of these is my must have and would recommend the most to you to check out is the barePro Performance Wear Liquid Foundation with SPF 20.
