In case you have not heard of Fenty Beauty, it was launched in 2017 by singer Rihanna. The brand has been in news constantly for its broad inclusivity across skin tones and gender, especially it’s Pro Filt’R foundation addressing a long-criticized gap in cosmetic industry offerings for women of color. The original foundation launch included 40 shades since expanded to 50. Fenty Beauty launched Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Concealer in 50 shades to match the shades of foundation. Along with the foundation and concealer, I am also going to talk about the primer called Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Primer. The packaging of the foundation, concealer, and primer is in heavy glass bottles which look and feel very smooth and nice. The light pinkish bottle of primer is definitely so pretty.

Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Primer is a shine-stopping, pore-diffusing makeup primer that smooths the way for better foundation application and longer wear with an instant retouch effect. I am literally in love with this primer, it is one of those primers that keep the oil on my skin in control. I apply it to the areas my skin is most oilier and even at the end of the day I can see and feel the difference. I was not expecting to be this much impressed with this primer, this does what it claims. The skin looks and feels smooth, ready for foundation, pores are blurred. This also works nicely to control to over-dewy or over-shiny finish, which is usually when I use a dewy foundation on my already-oily areas on the skin, where the result is very shiny. I use it under my glowy or radiant finish foundation and the combination stays put all day. Another thing I wanted to mention is despite being shine-free and mattifying, this primer is moisturizing, does not stick to the problem areas.
Last but not least, Fenty Beauty Precision Makeup Sponge which is a 3-sided makeup sponge designed without latex. This is not my first makeup sponge, I do like using makeup sponge or brushes depending upon the coverage and finish I am looking to achieve. It works nicely to apply and blend any formula—liquid, cream, or powder. I like how soft it is and how versatile it is while applying or blending any formula.
Overall, I know I am late to try Fenty Beauty but it is definitely worth the hype. The range of shades for all the products and the formulas, very practical and great of everyday use. I would love to check more products from the brand, I will keep you guys posted. For now, I am really enjoying the products and you can definitely check these out depending on what you are looking for and I have explained my experience in detail for each product I have used. What goes on your body is key and REN Clean Skincare keeps that as their main objective while formulating their products. They use bio-actives that benefit skin health, and ingredients that protect the efficacy of the formula and make it a pleasure to use. The result is Clean, safe skincare, with no toxins, no harsh or controversial chemicals, and no potential irritants – ever. The products have 100% recyclable packaging, refillable solutions, bottles with reclaimed ocean plastic. I have these products in the rotation since a few weeks now and they have been working quite well for what is claimed about them.
I have curated this post to depict how REN Clean Skincare products fit into my morning and evening skincare routine. Clarimatte T-Zone Control Cleansing Gel is something I am using morning and evening. For any active breakouts or for the gentle cleansing of my acne prone skin, this works nicely to clean my skin while keeping the oil under control. For evenings, this works as a good second cleanser and for mornings, it refreshes and cleans the skin without drying or making the skin tight. It is a light gel that works on skin’s oiliest areas – the T-zone. Removing excess sebum and minimizing enlarged pores, helps to fight congestion and blackheads, leaving skin cleansed and balanced.
I am generally a fan of face masks, it is my experience that when I am regular, weekly or twice a week, my skin behaves nicely whether it is breakouts, dullness, or clarity. Clarimatte Invisible Pores Detox Mask is a nice addition to my weekly ritual. It is a thick clay mask for combination skin, designed to decongest skin without drying it out. This mask minimizes the appearance of pores, removing excess sebum and fighting congestion. My skin is skin deeply cleansed and hydrated, with a smoother, more even tone.
There are two moisturizers I have been alternating with, one I use during the day and other during the evening. Glow Daily Vitamin C Gel Cream Moisturizer which is a blend of stable vitamin C and magnesium which hydrates and brightens while enhancing skin’s natural radiance. The stable form of Vitamin C helps illuminate while reducing hyperpigmentation, fine lines, and wrinkles. The lightweight gel-cream texture is suitable for all skin types, even the sensitive types but for me, my acne-prone combination skin is also loving this. There
Evercalm Global Protection Day Cream is an anti-aging day cream which calms and hydrates while offering protection against wrinkle-provoking pollution and free radicals. The formula is basically designed for sensitive skin to combat chronic redness and irritation to deliver a youthful glow. There
Last but one the least, a very unique product I have been using is the Perfect Canvas Serum Primer. I found it very interesting as the product has skincare benefits while laying the foundation for the beautiful finish from the makeup products layered over it. It is a silicone-free priming serum for all skin types, designed to sit over moisturizer to plump skin, smooth fine lines and prime skin for make-up. This is a perfect addition for my skin which is a combination and the oily areas get oilier as the day progresses. This primer keeps the oiliness in check while keeping the dry areas hydrated. Overall the makeup goes on smoothly while giving a beautiful matte base for anything that goes over it. The makeup stays on well all day while skin looks smooth, plump, and fresh. I use 3-4 drops of this serum after my moisturizer and sunscreen as the last step of my skincare routine, massage until it absorbs. Then I follow with my makeup.
Overall, I am really impressed with the range of products I have tried from the brand. The products are gentle on the skin and perform as claimed. They have helped me keep my skin in check and I look forward to keeping them in
There are more new launches from Rodial, I have been really enjoying the Rodial Soft Focus Glow Powder and Collagen Lip Lacquers I shared last month. The new launches include Rodial Diamond foundation, Microblade Eyebrow Effect Pencil, and Bronze-Tour Powder. All three products are something I use every day, so it was very amazing to test and assess how they work for me.
Rodial Diamond Foundation is a lightweight perfecting foundation that delivers medium to high coverage and boosts skin’s luminosity for a radiant complexion. This satin formula has a feather-light skin feel that blends effortlessly for comfortable wear without drying or flaking. The formula blur and even skin tone and pores, while Diamond Powder and other luminosity boosting ingredients enhance radiance for a flawless look. The packaging of this foundation is in a pump bottle and one pump is enough for my face.
I have been using this to work every day and looks natural, radiant, and stays on all day. It did not emphasize my dry areas neither it made the oily areas oilier. I did not experience any irritation and breakouts with this foundation. It works nicely with or without powder over it. I have swatched two shades 04 and 05 in this new foundation below. 04 suits my medium skin tone with golden undertones. I am hoping that 05 will suit my skin tone during the summers.
Shade 04 – Light/ Medium beige, with neutral, cool undertones for medium skin tones
Shade 05 – Medium beige, with golden undertones for medium, olive skin tones
Rodial Bronze-Tour Powder is a bronzer/contour hybrid to get a naturally defined, sun-kissed glow. ‘The shade is a mix of the ashy tones of contour and bronze shades of a bronzer, enabling bronzing and sculpting to be done in one sweep.’ The powder is finely milled and blends seamlessly into the skin for a flawless finish. This universally flattering bronze toned shade suits all skin tones to enhance facial contours and add a natural warmth to the complexion. It can also be used on the eyelids and the sides of the nose. The bronzer looks really natural on the skin without looking greyish or ashy on my medium skin tone.
Rodial Microblade Eyebrow Effect Pencil is a creamy brow pencil to define and enhance the brows. The calligraphy tip of this pencil allows a tailor-made stroke to suit your unique features. The brow pencil gives light color with less pressure and deep intense color with more pressure. The tip works nicely to mimic the hairs in the brows. It stays on well for the whole day. I am using the shade Dark Ash Brown for my dark hair.
Overall, I am really loving these three new launches – Rodial Diamond foundation, Microblade Eyebrow Effect Pencil, and Bronze-Tour Powder from Rodial which are definitely worth checking out based on what you need. The packaging and performance of the products are both great. Rodial Makeup is available at Shoppers Drug Mart, Murale, and Beautyboutique.*Press samples
