Hyaluronic acid, also known as hyaluronan, is a substance found naturally in our skin that holds water and helps keep it hydrated and plump. The molecule holds a thousand times its weight in water to not only retain all that moisture in our skin but also prevent all that moisture from evaporating into the air. Apart from promoting supple and smooth skin, it has many other medical benefits. It also provides antiaging benefits, faster wound healing and could also be taken orally in specific form and composition. But coming back to the main concept of this post, Hyaluronic Acid in makeup and skincare. I purchased my first By Terry Hyaluronic Hydra-powder over 5 years back and it has always been a staple. In this post, I am sharing more about the Hyaluronic Hydra-Powder and Hyaluronic Hydra- Primer along with the Dual-ended face brush. The new
Hyaluronic Hydra- Powder has a little different packaging from the older version I has before.
By Terry Hyaluronic Hydra- Powder is a loose translucent setting powder for the face which is non-drying, mattifies and blurs the imperfections. The powder is infused with skincare benefits of hyaluronic acid, the multi-purpose Hyaluronic Hydra-Powder creates the perfect makeup finish as part of a 24/7 Hyaluronic Routine. Hyaluronic acid helps to maintain optimum moisture level. It is one of the best setting powder I have tried which instantly blurs my problem areas while minimizing pores, even out skin tone, fill in fine lines and control shine. The powder work perfectly great for my combination skin. It feels very lightweight and silky on the skin. This powder keeps my skin matte and problem areas blurred for a great amount of time during the day, my face looks fresh at the end of the day. The powder might leave a slight white cast depending on the way you apply it, I prefer applying it with my fingers and it magically blurs my imperfections.
To use, ‘Shake the jar before use. Dust the loose powder onto the Tool-Expert Dual-Ended Brush or Tool-Expert Kabuki Brush. Tap off any excess powder and apply all over the face on foundation or directly after the primer.
For touch-ups, apply with fingertips on areas that need to be perfected to absorb oil and neutralize shine. For an overnight treatment, use over your night cream to lock in moisture and keep hydration level at an optimum while you sleep.’
By Terry Hyaluronic Hydra-Primer is a moisturizing primer with built-in skincare. The primer is infused with skincare benefits of hyaluronic acid, Hyaluronic Hydra-Primer creates the perfect makeup base as part of a 24/7 Hyaluronic Routine. Hyaluronic acid helps to boost and maintain optimum moisture level, so skin looks firmer and plumper. I have noticed that this primer blurs blemishes and imperfections, minimize pores, even out skin tone, fill in fine lines and control shine. The primer has a weightless mousse texture which blends into the skin nicely. While many primers for combination or oily skin make my skin uncomfortable or dry but this primer does the job very well, keep my skin hydrated and comfortable and complexion looking matte, fewer imperfections, and radiant.
To apply ‘Apply a thin layer of Hyaluronic Hydra-Primer to the face, around the eyes and lips with Tool-Expert Dual-Ended Brush or with fingertips. Use alone or before makeup to even out the skin tone and hold makeup for longer.
Apply on pores, blemishes and imperfections for an instant blur-effect.
Mix a small amount of primer with your foundation to lighten coverage. Set makeup with the Hyaluronic Hydra-Powder.’
By Terry Dual-ended face brush is a 2 in 1 foundation and powder brush with ultra-soft synthetic bristles suitable for all complexion products. The flat shaped brush on one end is designed to apply liquid, cream and gel textures easily and evenly while the fluffy domed-shape brush on the other end, is ideal to perfect your makeup when using loose or compact powders.

IT Cosmetics is one of those brands which has been into my routine since I started using and getting serious about skincare and makeup almost a decade ago. At that time, I used to get the products from States until I got to know that the products are available at The Shopping Channel here in Canada. Now that IT Cosmetics is available at retailers as well as their own official website, that is so amazing for beauty lovers like me. The products are even suitable for sensitive skin types, multi-purpose products providing multiple benefits. Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream with SPF 50+ is a staple in my makeup stash and I have my mom use it too, her skin looks so youthful and beautiful with this. I have some new products which I have been using and testing since last few weeks – Your Skin But Better Oil Free Makeup Primer, Brow PowerFULL Eyebrow Pencil, Your Skin But Better CC+ Oil-Free Matte with SPF 40, Bye Bye Pores Bronzer.
It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better Oil-Free Makeup Primer is an oil-free, makeup-gripping base that hydrates the skin while extending the wear of makeup. This skin-transforming primer also works to refine the look of pores and is good for all skin types, including sensitive skin. This is a pretty nice primer for every day to keep the makeup intact while keeping the base refined and naturally matte. It works well with any CC+ cream from the brand or even with few foundations from other brands which I used over this primer to test it. The primer did not cause any breakouts or congestion on my combination skin, did not feel sticky or heavy.
It Cosmetics Brow PowerFULL Eyebrow Pencil is a pencil for brows and has a triangular tip for bold definition and volume. The Universal Taupe shade adjusts to all hair colours—even gray—based on the pressure applied and the formula stays intact on the brows for whole day fading to the minimal as the natural oils of the skin start to be more dominant around the end of the day. For my black hair on the brows, this mixes in pretty well and looks natural, I do not put a lot of pressure but a gentle grip and pressure to fill in the sparse areas.
It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Oil-Free Matte with SPF 40 is the matte version of the cult favorite CC+ cream from the brand. It delivers colour-correction, full coverage, anti-ageing skincare and SPF 40 broad-spectrum physical sunscreen—all with a poreless, natural-looking matte finish that stays on all day. This multitasking, complexion-perfecting formula camouflages skin imperfections including dark spots without creasing or cracking and helps to reduce shine and control oil for over 9 hours that I have tested it. It did not break me out, blends in nicely into the skin, works well with the oil-free makeup primer from the brand or even without it. This thick, smooth, creamy formula is pigmented and a little is all you need for the whole face. I usually do not use a concealer on my dark spots while using this, it covers everything pretty well. I use a buffing brush to apply this and it works pretty well to give me a natural matte finish which is not flat but beautiful. For my oily areas on the face, it keeps the area shine-free for a good time.
It Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Bronzer is a bronzing finishing veil that airbrushes away the look of pores while adding instant sun-kissed warmth to your skin. It is infused with pores blurring technology of the brand and real silk. This talc-free, oil-free bronzer glides over skin without settling into lines or pores and diffuses the look of imperfections for your most flawless glow. The universally flattering shade also features coconut extract for essential moisture and refreshing sensorial experience, plus anti-ageing collagen, hyaluronic acid, peptides and vitamins A, C, and E. It does not look orangey or reddish on my medium skin tone with golden undertones but looks very natural. The powder is finely milled, pigmented, and blends in nicely into the skin. Like other products from the range, the staying power is pretty good.
Overall, the brand has some amazing products, suitable to most of the skin tones and needs, and these new launches are great to check out. It Cosmetics products are available at ItCosmetics.ca and Sephora Canada.*Press samples
Nars celebrates 25 years and there is a new lineup of lipstick in matte, satin, and sheer finishes. The formula of the lipsticks is new that delivers instant colour vibrancy and conditions lips for a hydrated feel. There is a collection of 72 shades including nudes, bolds, and bright shades.
Inspired by the revolutionary vision of Francois Nars, the entire iconic lipstick line of Nars is revamped and 72 shades with three different finishes have launched by the brand. The 12 original lipsticks by the brand are packaged in red and white while the rest 60 shades are package in signature matte black and white.
The new formula contains a blend of Moringa and Passion Fruit Seed Oils which feel lightweight and comfortable on the lips and enhances colour vibrancy while hydrating at the same time.
The lipsticks have medium to full coverage and easily buildable. The formula of all the finishes is nice, comfortable, and consistent. The matte is not drying but has a soft, semi-matte lightweight feel to it. The sheer formula has a sheer glossy finish while the satin is creamy and more like a classic lipstick with a subtle sheen. The lasting power of the lipstick is pretty nice.
Below is a description in a few words for the three formulas:
- Sheer: subtle, sheer colour that shines
- Satin: creamy, rich colour
- Matte: intense colour with a velvety finish
Below are the shades I have swatched and their description, there is a mix of all three formulas:
