Marc Jacobs Beauty is one of the brands which I have on rotation in my everyday routine, whether it is their highliner, lipstick, eye primer, or mascara. I have few products which I have been testing on and off since last few weeks. They include the new Velvet Primer- Epic Lash Primer, Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara, Le Marc Lip Creme, Eye Conic Multi-Finish Eyeshadow Palette, Under Cover Eye Perfecting Coconut Eye Primer, Dew Drops Coconut Gel Highlighter and ‘The Face III’ Buffing Foundation Brush.

Velvet Primer- Epic Lash Primer is the newest launch from the brand which you might have seen all over Instagram. It is defined as an ultra-plush lash primer with a conditioning base that maximizes the benefits of any mascara for lashes that look longer, fuller and more dramatic. This is an interesting product for me, I have tried many face primers, eye primers, but this is a first for me to try an eyelash primer. This primer gives full treatment for lashes that feel luxuriously soft and healthy, not brittle or dry. It also helps prevent your mascara from flaking.  I have used it a few times and it does work, it makes my long lashes even longer like I am wearing false lashes. It does not work alone but with mascara on top. The wand works nicely to apply this primer.

Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara is not something I have used for the first time but have used it in the past and I like it. With the Velvet Primer for lash, the duo gives volumized look and dramatic finish to the lashes. This lash-maximizing, curvy brush in this volumizing mascara places the most volume at the hard-to-reach centre lash line, and the defining tip styles lashes for major drama. The ultra-concentrated black pigment delivers the greatest visual impact, and the flash volume complex creates instant, smudge-free length and volume in three strokes or less. The colour is a rich velvety black which I like.

Le Marc Lip Creme is the same creamy, moisturizing, long-lasting formula which I reviewed in the past and also in the post here. The shades I have swatched are below:

202 Goddess – Classic Red

210 Blow – Burgundy Red

286 Sugar and Spice – Bold Berry Red

Eye Conic Multi-Finish Eyeshadow Palette in Fantascene 790 – Sensual Nudes and Shimmering Pops has a long-wearing eyeshadow formula as the other Marc Jacobs Beauty eyeshadow palettes, the last I reviewed here. The eyeshadow formula is very easy to work with, is very smooth, and pigmented. It blends easily, even the matte shades. The shades are buildable to high intensity.  This is one of my favourite palettes with a gorgeous collection of shades. It will be suitable for most of the skin tones and ages, to create a simple neutral to glamorous eye looks.

Under Cover Eye Perfecting Coconut Eye Primer is a luxurious, crease-proof eye primer formulated with coconut extracts to lock in colour for up to 12 hours. For my oily lids, I do enjoy this eye primer. It glides on effortlessly with a creamy, lightweight texture, and helps even skin tone, intensifying eyeshadow for gorgeous payoff in every stroke. A little dot is all you need for both eyes, dries quickly, and the packaging is so beautiful. I have noticed minimal end-of-the-day creasing on my eyelids.

‘The Face III’ Buffing Foundation Brush is a brush for buffing the liquid foundation onto the skin to give a natural flawless airbrushed finish. The brush is so soft and works nicely for all creamy liquid products, it may be a primer or foundation. The innovative brush head and its blend-friendly synthetic bristles sweep foundation evenly across skin’s curves and contours for an expert, full-coverage finish. I have experienced no shedding of the bristles.

Dew Drops Coconut Gel Highlighter is inspired by Marc Jacobs’s love of coconut water and the glow of youthful, radiant, well-hydrated skin, this luminous gel-cream instantly lights up the complexion. It can be used to highlight skin directly or mix this concentrated luminizer with foundation and primer to transform them into illuminating elixirs. This gel highlighter builds for the ultimate sheen, and the sensual golden-peach hue flatters all skin tones with warm radiance.

Apart from all the glow, it does nourish the skin with some nice hydrating ingredients. For me, it is perfect for the evening parties or weekends when applying directly on top of my makeup. Mixing a drop with my primer and then applying foundation over it gives a glowy base which does work out for the day application. And for sure I can not wait to take this highlighter with me on my next holiday.

The products are definitely worth checking out, be their formula, comfort and ease of use or the packaging. Marc Jacobs Beauty is available at Sephora.ca, Sephora, NordstromNeiman Marcus.

StriVectin Blue Rescue Clay Renewal Mask is still one of my favourites and on rotation since I started using it last month. I am so glad to share more new launches from the brand which are definitely not just for winter but for the whole year round – one of the key ingredient, which I am obsessed with in general, is Hyaluronic Acid. The new launches include
Hyaluronic Tripeptide Gel-Cream for Eyes, Tri-Phase Daily Glow Toner, and Hyaluronic Gel Cushion Cleanser.

Hyaluronic Tripeptide Gel-Cream for Eyes, Tri-Phase Daily Glow Toner, and Hyaluronic Gel Cushion Cleanser

Hyaluronic Acid helps reduce the visibility of fine lines and wrinkles retaining moisture to the skin, creating a plumping effect. When the skin is protected and hydrated, increased skin cell production can take place, as the skin isn’t busy fighting for hydration. This leads to smoother, plumper skin cells. That means apart for providing all the above benefits, it is also good for healing burns, dry skin, and more.

Hyaluronic Tripeptide Gel-Cream for Eyes, Tri-Phase Daily Glow Toner, and Hyaluronic Gel Cushion Cleanser

StriVectin Hyaluronic Gel Cushion Cleanser is a silky, lightweight cleansing gel that removes makeup and impurities while replenishing skin with essential hydration. This refreshing, cooling formula leaves skin super soft, supple and visibly plumped with a cushion of moisture.  I prefer to use it as my second cleanse during the evening and first cleanse in the morning. It feels very luxurious on the skin. My skin feels very soft and smooth after using it. There is a subtle glow on the skin, skin feels nourished, comfortable and fresh, ready for the next step in the skincare routine. It is safe to be used even on the eye area.

Hyaluronic Tripeptide Gel-Cream for Eyes, Tri-Phase Daily Glow Toner, and Hyaluronic Gel Cushion Cleanser

StriVectin Tri-Phase Daily Glow Toner is a blend of skin-loving acids and nourishing botanical extracts to smooth, hydrate and brighten for a radiant, lit-from-within glow. I have used it a few times and it did not irritate my skin, felt gentle on my skin, I make sure to shake the bottle before applying it. I use it on my clean dry skin, my skin looks brighter, smooth, and hydrated, it did not dry my skin.

Hyaluronic Tripeptide Gel-Cream for Eyes, Tri-Phase Daily Glow Toner, and Hyaluronic Gel Cushion Cleanser

StriVectin Hyaluronic Tripeptide Gel-Cream for eyes is a new eye cream which helps with the fine lines and dark circles. This swirled, dual-phase eye gel-cream intensely hydrates and corrects visible signs of ageing while neutralizing the visible effects of Blue Light. The texture of the cream is just so lush, the swirled fluffy light texture is very hydrating, gives a cooling effect, and after few days of regular use, I have noticed my eye area is brighter, supple, and fine lines which have started to peek are less visible. Once I apply the eye cream, it absorbs quickly and the after-feel of the eye area is so silky to touch, without any residue. This is definitely a keeper in my skincare routine.

StriVectin is available in Canada at Shoppers Drug Mart and beautyboutique.ca

Thomas Kosmala scents have recently launched in North America and I have been following the launch news and the collection since the time I heard about it. It is a niche fragrance brand and the collection launched has nine unique pieces of scents. The packaging as you see in the pictures is very classic yet elegant. Après L’amour No.4 was launched in 2018 and the nose behind the fragrance is of the master himself, Thomas Kosmala.

Thomas Kosmala Après L'amour No.4

About the brand and the founder from the official website, ‘THE ALCHEMY OF SCENT is Thomas Kosmala. His life journey as a perfumer began when he arrived in Paris to study the art of classical perfumery. There he discovered the emotive potency of blending raw perfume materials into wondrous new combinations. This collection deftly balances tradition and innovation in achieving nine signature perfumes. Created and refined in his independent laboratory in the South of France, the collection celebrates Thomas’s gift for re-imagining classic raw ingredients to attain evocative contemporary scent profiles.’

The notes of Après L’amour No.4 are Bitter orange, lemon zest, wood, musk, and amber

Thomas Kosmala Après L'amour No.4

This nuanced, multi-layered scent from Thomas Kosmala captures the erotic energy and languorous mood of skin meeting skin. Bitter orange and lemon zest add zip to the top notes before cooling down to a base of wood, musk and amber.

The scent can definitely be worn by men or women, the longevity is really good. The feminine notes layered with the musky notes and citrus makes it a beautiful scent. Thomas Kosmala scents are available at bloomingdales.com and Harrods.com
