The excitement of holiday season is already here with this beautiful Man Ray for Nars Holiday 2017 Collection. Okay first of all, if you do not know, Man Ray was an American Visual Artist who spent most of his career in France. He was a renowned representative of avant-garde photography in the 20th-century and is considered as the pioneer of Surrealist photography. Ray’s artistic work is very diverse. He was a painter, object artist, and a filmmaker. He was the very first artist whose images were more valuable to collectors than his artistic work. He, therefore, made a significant contribution to the evaluation of photography as a form of art. And when you see the collection with his name, it has to be more Artistic as he was. The moment I glanced at the collection, I knew Nars Cosmetics has done it again, with the collection of products, shades, packaging, and formula.

NARS x Man Ray Blush – Fetishized (CAD $38)
When it comes to blushes, Nars is an authority, I do own few blushes from Nars which are one of my favorite formula’s and I trust them for their staying power too. Just one swipe of the blush and it gives the healthiest natural color to cheeks which enlivens the complexion. Also, the collection of shades is really versatile and will suit most of the skin tones.
Fetishized Blush is a Pink grapefruit shade which looks very bright in the packaging but on the skin, it looks very flattering. One single swipe and I have beautiful flush to the cheeks. The formula is same as the other Nars blushes which are very fine and easily blendable. The finish is described shimmery but once applied, there is no shimmer or sparkle but only glow. The formula, as other Nars Blushes, is long-wearing and it lasted on me for the whole day without any touch-ups.
NARS x Man Ray Duo Eyeshadow – Montparnasse (CAD $43)
First of all, I liked the name of this eyeshadow Duo when I first heard of it as it reminds me of my first trip to Paris when I visited the area. As the blushes, eyeshadow duos from Nars are as famous and loved due to their formula and shades. Montparnasse Duo Eyeshadow has shimmering gold on the left side and Iridescent Orchid on the right side.
The duo is so dynamic and can be combined to create endless effects. Both shades compliment each other and can be worn alone too. There is nothing better when you have a versatile eyeshadow duo which you can use any time of the day. The formula is very fine and easily blendable. With primer, they stay put throughout the day on my oily lids.
NARS x Man Ray Velvet Eyeliner (CAD $31)
Nars eyeliners are known for their formula and shade range. In Man Ray for Nars Holiday 2017 Collection, the limited edition velvet eyeliner, Nagoya Velvet Eyeliner, is a violet shade.
The formula is very smooth, creamy, and glides easily. It can be used in multiple ways, to blend, smudge, and intensify the eyes. This is a unique shade and will look nice this holiday season as well as summer.
NARS x Man Ray: Overexposed Glow Highlighter (CAD $52)
Overexposed Glow Highlighter is described to give the second-skin luminosity in a universally flattering shade. The embossing on the highlighter is the first thing that catches the eye. The next thing is the formula, it is very smooth and buttery. I have medium tan skin and this highlighter seriously looks like the second skin, it blends in so well with the skin and the shade is so beautiful.
It provides a beautiful glow minus any glitter or sparkle. Another thing is the highlighter looks more champagne from one angle and more golden from other angle but the end results are very flattering.
I would totally recommend the products I reviewed in this post, it is really difficult for me to pick one. Man Ray For Nars Holiday 2017 Collection is available at Sephora.ca, Hudson’s Bay, thebay.com, and Nordstrom.
Stay tuned for the next post with the review and swatches of Man Ray for Nars Gifting Collection!

Being a fan of Eve Lom Cleansing balm, it was natural for me to be excited for the new Eve Lom Gel Balm Cleanser from the brand. I do love a good balmy or gel kind of cleanser, especially for my first cleanse in the evening and first cleanse in the morning. Coming from the brand with the cult favorite balm cleanser, this naturally had to have high expectations. I have been using this cleanser as my first cleanse in the evening to remove makeup or sunscreen and then as a first cleanse in the mornings most of the days in the week to give it a good try before writing this review.
Eve Lom Gel Balm Cleanser (CAD $78 – 100ml) is claimed to deliver the ultimate cleanse that Eve Lom is famed for in an easy to use gel balm texture. As the Gel Balm Cleanser is massaged into the wet skin, it gently transforms into a milky balm texture that leaves skin soothed and blissfully soft. Unlike traditional gel cleansers that leave skin feeling tight and dry, this cleanser is fortified with moisturizing Shea Butter and nourishing Grapeseed Oil and is clinically proven to moisturize skin for up to 12 hours after use. The hybrid gel-to-balm formula is enriched with our iconic signature blend of Clove, Eucalyptus, Hops and Chamomile Oil which are proven to dissolve impurities and all traces of makeup, including waterproof mascara. When combined with the Shea Butter base, a lightweight botanical aroma is created.
As for the first cleanse, it has worked really well at removing my makeup. My skin was not irritated or had any breakouts when I was using this. It is advised to be used on wet skin but I have liked it both ways, on the wet skin as well as on the dry face followed by a massage and then emulsifying with warm water. My skin felt clean and nice, no dryness residue. Just to be safe, I do follow up with a double cleanse in the evening. But in the morning, I just use this cleanser either on my wet face or directly onto my dry skin, massage it and then emulsify it while massaging.
The aroma of this product is quite noticeable but I do like spices and scent of all things natural, so it was a pleasing and relaxing experience everytime massaging this onto the skin. The Clove in this cleanser is a great ingredient to help with acne, blemishes, and pigmentation. Eucalyptus is both anti=bacterial and anti-inflammatory, Chamomile is a natural soothing agent for skin, and Hops is a nice antioxidant. So, Overall it is a nice cleanser and is going to be the perfect skin partner for cleansing my face, moreover, if you are thinking to start using a gel balm cleanser, it is the perfect weather to get started, that is how my affair with gal balm and balm cleansers started.
Have you tried the Eve Lom Gel Balm Cleanser or the Original Cleanser from Eve Lom?

Hair care is a part of self-care and keeping the scalp and hair healthy plays an important role when it comes to how you feel about yourself. There are days when my scalp is itchy, irritated, and flaky, which makes me look out for products that will relieve me from the stress and the action of my hand going to my scalp every time I feel the itch. Phyto Paris Phytopolleine Botanical Scalp Treatment has been with me since few years and I have repurchased it a few times already. The only issue is the bottle is really cute but very small, like each bottle serves me four to five uses for my medium wavy hair. But it has worked really well for me, that is the biggest plus point. Anyways let me go to some details from the Phyto Paris and how it worked for me in detail.
Phyto Paris Phytopolleine Botanical Scalp Treatment (CAD $53 – 25ml) is described as a potent blend of essential oils that balances the scalp and deters dandruff. It instantly purifies and stimulates the scalp with the natural extracts of rosemary, sage, cypress, eucalyptus, and lemon. It is defined to be an ideal scalp treatment to energize and fortify sensitive, weak and anemic hair. It is recommended for those suffering from an unbalanced scalp whether is dry, oily, itchy, or irritated.
For itchy, irritated, flaky or dandruff, the reason can be anyone amongst environmental, seasonal, hormonal or other health problem but the outcomes are almost same when you experience it. For me, my scalp tends to get itchy and irritated during the time when the season changes and also when I am using some styling products and not using a deep cleanser for my scalp which I should do every other week or so. There can be multiple factors which I may be missing, like the stress of day to day life can have a different kind of impact on different people or I might have a deficiency of something, most of the times, my family physician recommends me Vitamin B12 or Vitamin D which I am consistently low on. Anyways, I will come to the main point, how this scalp treatment worked for me.
I have used this scalp treatment as a pre-shampoo treatment and also as an overnight treatment. I do prefer to keep it overnight but works well in 20 minutes when I am in hurry. I section my hair, apply the oil through dropper nozzle and then massage my scalp. And that’s it. I feel my scalp is calm and soothed after the message with this scalp treatment. My hand does not go towards my scalp and does make me feel good about my scalp. Don’t forget to shampoo twice as I feel there is still oil in my hair after the first wash. After washing my hair, I feel the flakiness and itchiness are reduced after first used and with consistent use, I do feel the improvement. Moreover applying this and massaging it, inhaling the aroma of the essential oils does make a difference towards a healthier scalp. And healthier scalp means no itchiness, flakiness and a step towards good environment for hair growth.
This is a keeper for me, and I have repurchased it multiple times. Phyto Paris Phytopolleine Botanical Scalp Treatment is available at Phyto Canada, Sephora Canada, Beautyboutique by Shoppers Drug Mart.
