Being a fan of Dior makeup, I always have high expectations from Dior skincare. I have combination skin type which is prone to hormonal congestion time to time, means my skin produces more oil than it should actually, few times in a month. So I am always on the hunt for purifying or detoxifying serums and treatments that may help. I was sent Dior One Essential Skin Boosting Super Serum a few weeks back and I have been using this in my skincare routine on and off since then. I have been a regular with this since 3 weeks so as to give you some insight and share my reviews about it.
Dior One Essential Skin Boosting Super Serum(CAD $130 per 30ml), a daily detox booster is described as more than just a serum, it detoxifies, regenerates, and boosts skin for a revitalized complexion. Daily, skin faces an onslaught of aggressors: UV rays, stress, and pollution. The solution: the new One Essential, with a more powerful formula that targets 100% of both outdoor and — for the first time — indoor toxins such as carpet, glue, varnishes, and electronic devices. One Essential quadruples the effects of active ingredients in the skincare products that follow(3) (retinol, vitamin C, longoza, hyaluronic acid, and bifidus) for lasting radiance.
The packaging of this serum is in a glass bottle with a pump. It feels very feminine with rounded curves, the color and print on the bottle is very attractive. The serum is described to target external pollutants and UV like ozone, exhaust pipe gas, heavy metals and also stress/fatigue which is a natural recycling mechanism of toxins slow down. It detoxifies skin cells, regenerates and boosts the performance of the subsequently applied skincare by up to 4 times.
The key ingredient of this serum is Hibiscus. Hibiscus is a natural detoxifying ingredient and used in many countries and parts of the world for its benefits. It stimulates the natural detoxifying mechanism of the cell (proteasome) and releases the cellular energy. Toxins get recycled into raw material for the skin and target action down to the stem cells. The texture of the serum is “serum-in-milk” means it combines the power of a serum with the gentle touch of milk.
The serum is an important step of my skincare routine. Based on what my skin needs and the concerns, I either use a single serum or I layer two or three serums like I use a purifying serum and then use a hyaluronic hydrating serum or I may use a purifying or detoxifying serum and then follow with the radiance boosting serum. So depending on what my skin needs, I change my products. This serum is a nice addition to my skin care routine. It is very refreshing and does absorb into the skin very rapidly. I use this serum after cleansing or double cleansing my skin. I use this serum, one pump is enough for my whole face due to the slippery texture of it. I follow with either another serum on tops of it or just a moisturizer over it. Depending upon whether it is day or night, I follow with sunscreen and makeup. I had no issues like makeup rolling over or something when I use this serum I experience no irritation or breakouts from this. My skin feels fresh, plumped and radiant when I use this serum.
No doubt, this is based on technology inspired by a Nobel Prize discovery (Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2004 for the discovery of proteasome) and I have been loving the results so far. Dior One Essential Skin Boosting Super Serum is available at Dior counters nationwide and respective retailer .com sites.

Back to School is always exciting, whether it is the emotions or the excitement, it is always special. Quo has three limited edition beauty releases for Quo back to school that will are available in Shoppers Drug Mart since this month. I was sent these products as part of the press kit for the limited edition launches.
Quo Brush Set (CAD $38) is a limited edition brush collection which features 5 beautifully crafted Quo Cosmetics brushes with custom colored handles. The set comes with a cosmetic bag to store and protect your brushes. The powder brush is used to apply powder all over the face and body. The contour brush is used to highlight and contour the hollows of the cheeks and cheekbones.
The eye shadow brush is used to apply base shadow color on eye lids. The crease blender brush is shaped and pointed to blend that dark crease eye shadow. The Liner/Brow brush is used to define eye-line and brows. The brushes are very soft and do not streak while applying a product. The hairs have not fallen while I was testing these.
Quo Total Beauty Kit (CAD $45) is curated as a kit for a complete, fresh beauty look. Each product is packaged in an eye-catching black and white design. The kit included 4 eyeshadows, 1 lipstick, 1 lip gloss, 1 eyeliner, 1 cream blush and 1 cream highlighter.
The texture of the blush and highlighter is very creamy. The eyeshadows are very pigmented and have no fallout. The lipstick and lipgloss are not drying for the lips and are comfortable to wear. The eyeliner is very pigmented and dark black, the way I like.
Quo “My Makeup” Notebook Palettes (CAD $32) are 3 palettes perfect for creating different fall beauty looks. Each palette contains 4 eyeshadows and 1 blush. I am totally loving the packaging of these, very unique.
The eyeshadows are very pigmented and the shades do compliment other shades in the palette.
These all sets make a beautiful gift as well as something that will look beautiful on any skin tone and will suit sitting on any dresser.

Maison Francis Kurkdjian has created contemporary fragrances characterized by excellence, savoir-faire, and audacity. The House’s fragrance collection is conceived as a “fragrance wardrobe”. It is committed to uncompromising quality in the unique tradition of French fine perfumery, the House at the same time proposes a contemporary vision of the art of creating and wearing perfume.
From the fragrance wardrobe of Maison Francis Kurkdjian, three emblematic perfumes, À la rose, Amyris femme and Aqua Universalis are now available in the new line of scented products for hair and body. I was sent Amyris femme scented body oil and À la rose scented hair mist for testing and review purposes. The packaging of both the products is in beautiful Maison Francis Kurkdjian Paris glass bottles. Both the body oil and hair mist have a fine spray pump to dispense the product.
Maison Francis Kurkdjian Amyris femme scented body oil
The scented body oil covers the skin with an exquisite, sensual veil. The texture of the body oil is light, non-greasy and absorbs into the skin rapidly leaving the skin satiny smooth and delicately scented. It blends three oils which are selected based on their natural properties which are Argan Oil, Sweet Amond Oil, and Apricot Kernel Oil. Argan Oil has revitalizing and antioxidant properties. Sweet Almond Oil has to soften and regenerating abilities. Apricot Kernal Oil contributes to radiance boosting.
Amyris femme scented body oil (USD $75/75ml) is described as Amyris femme reveals the deep fullness of iris from Florence in a burst of lemon and orange blossom from California, set ablaze by an amber-musk accord. The notes of this scented body oil are Lemon tree flower, Californian Orange, Jamaican Amyris, Florentine Iris, Haitian Vetiver and Musky Amber. The body oil comes out of the bottle through the pump in a very fine mist and is very easy to use. I like the scent of the body oil, I would say it is perfect for all seasons and the delicate scent lingers on the body for few hours before it dissipates. To get the more out of it, I would suggest to layer it with the same fragrance. I did not notice any residue or greasiness and the oil absorbs really fast into the skin. I have used it on full body and on the exposed parts of the body and works well either way. If I use it on my heat points of the body and then put the same fragrance over it, it just gives that amazing effect which lasts the whole day.
Maison Francis Kurkdjian À la rose scented hair mist
The À la rose scented hair mist (USD $65/75ml) is light in texture and absolutely feminine mist that scents hair in a delicate and refined beauty ritual. It is alcohol-free and is very gentle to hair. The sillage is luminous and floral. À la rose scented hair mist is described as The radiance of Damascena and Centifolia roses delicately graces the hair like a veil of infinite femininity. A feeling of freshness that carries in its sillage bergamot from Calabria combined with violet and magnolia blossoms, subtly warmed by a whisper of cedar wood and musk.
The notes of this hair mist are Centifolia rose from Grasse, Damascena rose from Bulgaria, Bergamot from Calabria, Orange from California, Violet, Magnolia Blossom, Cedar Wood, and Musk. I have loved a good hair fragrance and when I do not find my favorite fragrance in the hair version, I find myself spraying the fragrance either on my neck near the hair or on my wrists and then touch my hair sparingly with the wrists to have the fragrance blend into the hair. I know it is not right as the fragrance does contain alcohol which is not very good if used daily on the hair. This hair-mist is alcohol-free and that means it will not dry out the hair and is gentle on it. The scent lingers in the hair all day and is not strong but very gentle and delicate.
I am in love with these two scented products and they have been my go-to in my everyday routine. I would totally recommend these if you are looking for a scented body oil or a scented hair mist. These are available online and in stores at Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, Net-A-Porter, and Saks Fifth Avenue.
