Maison Francis Kurkdjian has created contemporary fragrances characterized by excellence, savoir-faire, and audacity. The House’s fragrance collection is conceived as a “fragrance wardrobe”. It is committed to uncompromising quality in the unique tradition of French fine perfumery, the House at the same time proposes a contemporary vision of the art of creating and wearing perfume.
From the fragrance wardrobe of Maison Francis Kurkdjian, three emblematic perfumes, À la rose, Amyris femme and Aqua Universalis are now available in the new line of scented products for hair and body. I was sent Amyris femme scented body oil and À la rose scented hair mist for testing and review purposes. The packaging of both the products is in beautiful Maison Francis Kurkdjian Paris glass bottles. Both the body oil and hair mist have a fine spray pump to dispense the product.
Maison Francis Kurkdjian Amyris femme scented body oil
The scented body oil covers the skin with an exquisite, sensual veil. The texture of the body oil is light, non-greasy and absorbs into the skin rapidly leaving the skin satiny smooth and delicately scented. It blends three oils which are selected based on their natural properties which are Argan Oil, Sweet Amond Oil, and Apricot Kernel Oil. Argan Oil has revitalizing and antioxidant properties. Sweet Almond Oil has to soften and regenerating abilities. Apricot Kernal Oil contributes to radiance boosting.
Amyris femme scented body oil (USD $75/75ml) is described as Amyris femme reveals the deep fullness of iris from Florence in a burst of lemon and orange blossom from California, set ablaze by an amber-musk accord. The notes of this scented body oil are Lemon tree flower, Californian Orange, Jamaican Amyris, Florentine Iris, Haitian Vetiver and Musky Amber. The body oil comes out of the bottle through the pump in a very fine mist and is very easy to use. I like the scent of the body oil, I would say it is perfect for all seasons and the delicate scent lingers on the body for few hours before it dissipates. To get the more out of it, I would suggest to layer it with the same fragrance. I did not notice any residue or greasiness and the oil absorbs really fast into the skin. I have used it on full body and on the exposed parts of the body and works well either way. If I use it on my heat points of the body and then put the same fragrance over it, it just gives that amazing effect which lasts the whole day.
Maison Francis Kurkdjian À la rose scented hair mist
The À la rose scented hair mist (USD $65/75ml) is light in texture and absolutely feminine mist that scents hair in a delicate and refined beauty ritual. It is alcohol-free and is very gentle to hair. The sillage is luminous and floral. À la rose scented hair mist is described as The radiance of Damascena and Centifolia roses delicately graces the hair like a veil of infinite femininity. A feeling of freshness that carries in its sillage bergamot from Calabria combined with violet and magnolia blossoms, subtly warmed by a whisper of cedar wood and musk.
The notes of this hair mist are Centifolia rose from Grasse, Damascena rose from Bulgaria, Bergamot from Calabria, Orange from California, Violet, Magnolia Blossom, Cedar Wood, and Musk. I have loved a good hair fragrance and when I do not find my favorite fragrance in the hair version, I find myself spraying the fragrance either on my neck near the hair or on my wrists and then touch my hair sparingly with the wrists to have the fragrance blend into the hair. I know it is not right as the fragrance does contain alcohol which is not very good if used daily on the hair. This hair-mist is alcohol-free and that means it will not dry out the hair and is gentle on it. The scent lingers in the hair all day and is not strong but very gentle and delicate.
I am in love with these two scented products and they have been my go-to in my everyday routine. I would totally recommend these if you are looking for a scented body oil or a scented hair mist. These are available online and in stores at Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, Net-A-Porter, and Saks Fifth Avenue.
What are your favorite scents of a hair mist or a body oil?
You must be thinking dehydrated body and dehydrated skin make sense but what is dehydrated hair and if there is something like ‘dehydrated hair’, and if you have dehydrated hair. I know I had the same concerns in my mind when I heard about this term. We come across different terms for hair like dry, oily, dull in our daily routine but I was curious to know what is dehydrated hair, Okay here I start. Christophe Robin hydrating range, which I am going to talk about in this post, is based on the concerns and needs of his clients, I do consider myself his client too (not a direct one yet but I still am and love all the products I have use from his brand, like they were created based on my hairs needs).
If your hair is dull and losing its elasticity and bounce, If your hair is prone to static electricity, If your hair inflates at the slightest sign of humidity, These are all the signs of Dehydrated Hair. I do get “Yes” for all the three ‘If’s‘ I mentioned above and I had never had an idea that my hair could be dehydrated, I would have thought about them as a bad hair day or something I missed while styling them. But the real reason might be the wind, cold, weather, the sun, friction from rubbing against helmet or scarves. So we come to the conclusion that moisturizing hair is as important as moisturizing skin every day.
Christophe Robin products are developed by combining natural ingredients to develop effective formulas and for this new Hydrating range, the main ingredient is Aloe Vera. This range is suitable for men and women. I remember my mom used to have an Aloe Vera plant grown in her garden and she would get a little pulp from it every day and apply it on her face and then to mine, it used to soothe the skin, hydrate and brighten it. Whenever I go to visit her, She still loves to do that and I can see her skin is so beautiful. And yes she eats it too sometimes which is far better than buying Aloe Vera juice from the stores. Okay, now putting my stories aside, let me talk about these products which have Aloe Vera and are for hair. I was sent these products as part of press package for testing and review purposes. The packaging of the products is in white sturdy bottles and dispenser and pump for both work very well.
Aloe Vera plant has very thick leathery leaves which keep the vital resources inside the leave intact. Aloe Vera gel is a combination of water and over 75 active molecules, 20 minerals, 18 amino acids, 12 vitamins, and nutrients. Yes, I do understand all these as My mom is a Chemistry Professor and I was a good student, so this was an obvious choice for my mom and I trust her choice of products till now. That means, these products were destined to be loved by me, but wait, let me start with them again, I won’t divert the topic now.
Christophe Robin Hydrating Shampoo with Aloe Vera (CAD $43/250ml) is suitable for all types of hair and is gentle enough for frequent use. It is enriched with Aloe Vera, a rich blend of water, vitamins, and nutrients which provide soothing and hydration. I take a small amount of the shampoo and distribute it through wet hair, lather and then rinse thoroughly. The scent is so invigorating and fresh. Then I follow with the Hydrating Leave-in Mist with Aloe Vera. I spray it few times on the damp hair and either air dry or blow dry the hair.
Christophe Robin Hydrating leave-in mist with Aloe Vera (CAD $48/150ml) is a leave-in mist suitable for all hair types. It provides hydration as well as helps detangling of the hair. It can be use don hair lengths as well as on the scalp. It is formulated with pure aloe vera gel and an active plant ingredient which soothes and restores the scalp’s comfort. It is very light in texture with the same invigorating and freshening scent as the hydrating shampoo. It can be used as a mid day pick me up for a quick spritz and refresh the hair or if hair is feeling dry and dull. I do feel my hair pleasantly soft and shiny while my scalp is calm and healthier.
Both these products are must-try if you have any one of the three ‘If’s‘ I highlighted in bold letters in the first half of this post. Christophe Robin Hydrating Shampoo with Aloe Vera and Christophe Robin Hydrating leave-in mist with Aloe Vera are available at Sephora Canada.

The core of the Beauty ritual with Osmanthus Flower created by Roger&Gallet starts with an extract of Osmanthus Flower mixed with the precious essences distilled from Benjoin, Neroli and Patchouli infused with all the freshness of grapefruit and mandarin. It is inspired by a journey through the valley of Guilin in China. Reading the names of ingredients and their extracts mentioned above makes me so relaxing already before I even start to write about the products.
Roger&Gallet became available in Sephora Canada this year and now I know why it is receiving so much love and appreciation. Roger&Gallet products are created with up to 95% natural ingredients and all products contain 100% distilled precious essences whose numerous properties have been proven through time. I received Fleur d’Osmanthus Shower Gel , Fleur d’Osmanthus Sorbet Body Lotion and Fleur d’Osmanthus Hand and Nail Cream as part of a press package for testing and review purposes. I have used these products for over two weeks before writing this review.
Fleur d’Osmanthus Shower Gel (CAD $17/200ml) is a plant-based recipe of natural origin which does not contain soap, sulphates, parabens or colourants and still provides fine generous foam and a gentle fragrance for a soft hydrated skin. It leaves the skin fresh and scented for maximum pleasure and feel of the gourmand floral notes, citrus and wood. The heart notes of this formula have essential oils of mandarin, grapefruit and benzoin which gives sense which is wonderfully uplifting well-being.
Fleur d’Osmanthus Sorbet Body Lotion (CAD $21/200ml) is a non-greasy, fluid hydrating body lotion which leaves a soft and velvety touch when used. It makes the skin hydrated, glowing and supple. This body lotion is enriched with a complex of naturally derived essential oils, aloe vera and apricot oil. The formula is very light and instantly melts into a water like texture. The notes of this body lotion are fresh and joyful with heart notes of mandarin, grape fruit and benzoin essential oils.
Fleur d’Osmanthus Hand and Nail Cream (CAD $10/30ml) is a very hydrating hand cream enriched with shea butter which provides long lasting hydration and absorbs very quickly without leaving any residue or greasiness. The other main ingredient is apricot kernel oil which is blended with shea butter. This combination help soothes and softens the hands. It has a light floral fragrance which is very soothing.
I am very satisfied with all these products and they have done a great job of keeping my skin clean, hydrated and my senses soothed while feeling their aroma. I do believe in layering the products to make the products more effective and leaves the unique scent from head to toe.
Do you believe in the art of layering? What are your favourite scent for shower gel and body lotion that you love to layer?

Clinique Pep-Start Double Bubble Purifying Mask (CAD $34) is a new mask from Clinique which aims to smooth complexion with the power of bubbles. This mask is a transformative cleansing gel mask which deeply cleanses, purifies and preps the skin, either for the makeup, night treatment or moisturizer. The unique formula of this mask transforms from a pink gel into a blanket of small white debris- lifting bubbles. The energizing bubbling sensation along with exfoliating ingredients work to lift away surface oil and dirt to reveal softer, smoother and makeup ready skin. It is suitable for all skin types. The packaging of this mask is in a green tube with a pump to dispense the product.
The main ingredients of this mask include:
Decyl Glucoside + Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate + Cocamidopropyl Betaine – These are the foaming agents that help wash away the surface dirt and impurities that can lead to clogged pores and a dull, lackluster complexion.
Glycerin – A moisturizing agent that helps to prevent drying and stripping skins.
N-Actyl D-Glucosamine – An amino sugar that increases moisture, decreases flakiness and helps to normalize exfoliation on the outer layer of skin.
It is suggested to shake the tube of this mask before using. I spread an even layer of this mask on my face and neck avoiding the eye area. The pink color of the gel starts to change and bubbles start to form which grow a little in size, making it a very bubbly layer over the face. After two minutes, I massage the mask with warm water while rinsing away. Then I pat dry and follow with my skin care products, followed by makeup if I use it in the morning. I have used it thrice per week and have used it for two weeks. It is a great pick me up for a Monday morning and it just takes 2 minutes and the skin looks refreshed. For other days, I use it in the evening followed by my night serum and moisturizer.
It is also great after a workout or yoga sweat session, and perfect for an evening out because it really helps prime skin for makeup application. I am really liking that my skin looks more clear and less clogged pores, thank you to this mask. I try to stay consistent with my skin care, it is not a one day or one week but it is part of my daily routine and this is what I suggest everyone. With care and consistency, anyone can improve and maintain the quality of the skin. This is a great mask and I would recommend this to anyone who needs a quick boost for the dullness and uneven texture or for that maintenance and improvement of the skin by deep cleansing and purifying the skin. This mask is exclusively available at Sephora.

Lip products make a lot of difference on how your lips look and how comfortable you feel about them. Finding the right formula, that does not dry but hydrates and plumps your lips may be sometimes not easy. I have been testing these three products GrandeLIPS Hydrating Lip Plumper, Vanity Pair Lipstick and Lip Gloss since last month and been impressed with the formula and the results of all. When I received these products for review purposes, I was not very much aware of these brands and after reading and using the products, I am amazed at the results and clueless why I didn’t try anything from them before.

Glitz Lipstick has a rich glistening color. Lip Gloss gives the results of dewy lips. Both the products are 100% dye-free, free of irritating waxes, phthalates, Parabens, Preservatives, fragrances. They have titanium dioxide and iron oxide pigments which provide sun protection. The green tea in it provides antioxidant benefits and virgin coconut oil provides moisturization to the lips. Apart from all above, the Lip Gloss has monolaurin for lip safe disinfection. My lips have been enjoying these two products and have no irritation or sensitivity but my lips appear healthy and they do not dry. The lipstick adds fun shiny sheen to the lips, which is not glittery. The color stays on well for over 3 to 4 hours. The Lip gloss gives a very nice dewy look and feel to the lips, it looks perfect for day as well as night wear. I do add a bit extra during the night to give a little oomph factor. The lip gloss is not sticky and has a staying power for over 4 hours. I apply it alone and over the lipstick, work well both ways.
