The two-tone lipstick trend has been popular in Korea for quite a while, and now we have our own gradient lips with these new candy-like lipsticks. Whether it is the product inside or the packaging, they are so pretty, don’t you agree? Laneige two-tone lipstick (CAD $35) is described as a cult K-Beauty favorite for creating an effortless ombré lip, this fashionable high gloss and semi-matte formula combines two makeup artist-curated shades in one sleek tube. It is available in fun, trendy color duos, it features a custom oblique cut that delivers a youthful, fuller pout and a perfect gradation with every swipe.
The two-toned lipstick bullet produces a gorgeous gradient lip which goes on very smoothly provided your lips are properly moisturized. The formula is comfortable to wear and glides on easily on the lips and the pigmentation is nice and is quite buildable. I have tried and used the bullet in both ways, like keeping the darker shade inside and lighter outside and vice-versa. Even I have rubbed the lips after the application to mix up the shades. It works nice based on how you like it, darker or lighter shade inside or outside. The lasting power of the lipstick is okay, stays on 3-4 hours before I felt the need to reapply, and that is when I did not eat or drink anything during the duration.
The gloss and matte in this two-toned lipstick give a nice finish to the lips, the dark shade is glossy while the lighter contrast is semi matte. The oblique cutting naturally blurs the color border and creamy and smooth texture completes natural gradation. To apply this lipstick, one needs to gently push down the slider to reveal lipstick. Place the darker color on the inner lips and a lighter color on outer edges for instant gradient lips or vice versa based on what your mood is.
This would be a great addition to your lipsticks if you are looking for something trendy, chic, and also if you are a fan of K-beauty trends. Laneige Two Tone Lipstick is available at Sephora.
I am giving 8 shades of this Laneige Two Tone Lipstick, same shades as I have swatches and reviewed here.
With Valentine’s Day around the corner, I am presenting you the new launches from Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Collection which launched this month. The new launches include new liquid lips, brow products, roller ball eyeliner, and a fragrance. The collection has a nice range of products that are perfect if you are looking for a gift either for someone or for yourself. The packaging is the first thing that catches the eye and it is beautiful, right? I have my reviews and swatches of Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Lip & Shine, Lip Colour’Ink in Empowered, Brow Duo (Mascara and Highlighter), and La Petite Noire Eau de Parfum Legere.
Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Lip & Shine
Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Lip & Shine (CAD $34) is a hydrating base and glossy top coat in one formula. It can be used as a hydrating base for lips and will leave lips supple and comfortable before applying the lipstick. As a top coat for lips, it gives ultra-shiny results when used over the lipstick. The product has a floral fruity fragrance with accents of bergamot, rose, and raspberry, inspired by the La Petite Noire delicious notes.
The formula is enriched with an emollient agent which leaves the lips supple and comfortable. It can be applied alone, as a base, or as a top coat. I have tried in all ways and really like the formula. It is very comfortable on the lips and keeps the lips shiny and supple. Over the lipstick, it stays on quite well, is not sticky. The consistency is nice and the applicator works very well.
Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Lip Colour’Ink
Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Lip Colour’Ink (CAD $34) is a liquid lipstick with a matte finish. The intensity is buildable depending on the need. One layer of the lip color gives a nice soft color to the lips, and two or more layers give full coverage. The texture is ultra fine, the formula is weightless and does not transfer. It has a fruity floral fragrance same as the lip and shine described above. The staying power is amazing, the stain was still on my lips for after 5 hours. Also, there are new beautiful shades of lip colors in the Guerlain spring 2018 collection along with color correctors which I reviewed here.
Empowered is a must have shade and will look great on most skin tones. One layer of it gives a beautiful soft color while layering it increases the intensity. Topping it with the lip and shine gives that beautiful shiny lips. I really like the formula, matte finish but very comfortable on the lips, did not dry out my lips at all. Lip Colour’Ink is available in 15 shades.
Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Brow Duo
Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Brow Duo (CAD $33) is a first 2 in 1 brow mascara + highlighter. On one side, the brow mascara allows to define, set in place and create visibly fuller brows, and on the other end, the highlighter with a creamy formula creates bigger better eyes. The brow mascara has a long hold gel formula which has a nice staying power and lasts all day. I use the brow mascara by brushing the brows to define their shape and repeating to get the desired thickness. I apply the highlighter under the arch of the eyebrows. There are two shades available in this brow duo, light and deep.
Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Eau de Parfum Legere
Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Eau de Parfum Legere (CAD $109 – 50ml) is a floral fruity fragrance which is a lighter version of La Petite Robe Noire made with rose water. The nose behind the fragrance is Thierry Wasser. The top notes are cherry, rose water, and almond. The middle notes are rose and black tea. The base notes are tonka bean and patchouli. The packaging as you see is beautiful, the legendary inverted heart bottle is tinted with an incredibly chic, luminous purple-pink. Through the bottle, the black silhouette of a delicate crocheted dress is visible.
“I am delicate and quite simply unforgettable. I am the chic, new, stylish Guerlain fragrance. In the fragrance wardrobe of La Petite Robe Noire, I am the Hippie-Chic Dress.”
Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Collection and the new launches are available at Guerlain Boutique and Institute, Hudson’s Bay, BeautyBoutique by Shoppers Drug Mart, Sephora, Holt Renfrew, Murale, and Nordstrom.
Serums, as you know, are an important part of the skincare routine, whether or not you are looking for long-term benefits or short-term results. For me, like most of the women with similar skin type, needs have always been about congestion on my combination skin, glow, radiance, plump, and healthy looking skin with less visible pores. I am almost approaching my mid-thirties and still not mentioning lines and wrinkles in my concerns I know, and I am not scared of them, they are part of the natural aging process and I have no plans or thoughts to erase them even. Coming to the bareMinerals Skinlongevity® Vital Power Infusion Serum which I have used since last few weeks in my skincare routine, sometimes alone under the moisturizer and other times layering with other serums.
bareMinerals Skinlongevity® Vital Power Infusion Serum is described as first of its kind modern serum infusion that unleashes skin’s vitality, youthful resilience, and radiance. The serum empowers skin’s vitality and radiant luminosity, replenish the skin with essential minerals and hydration, renew the skin by diminishing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and uneven skin tone, and fortify the skin by giving the resilience to help defend itself against future signs of aging.
The key ingredients include Long Life Herb which is a legendary herb shown to defend against the signs of ageing California Poppy which is known for its resilience and is a component of SkinMimetic Technology to help protect skin against environmental stressors, and Lempuyang Ginger which is a root that is traditionally used in Ayurvedic medicines and Indonesian Jamu Herbal medicines.
The serum has been a nice addition to my skincare routine. The serum has a nice gel-like texture and easy to apply consistency. It absorbs into the skin very fast and does not leave any residue. The packaging is in a heavy glass bottle with a pump and two pumps are enough to cover the face, neck and decollete. There is a nice glow that this serum leaves on the skin. I have not notices any irritation on breakouts while using this serum. I use this after cleansing, toning and before my face oil or moisturizer when I am not using a face oil. My skin is radiant and looks healthy, it does not emphasize any pores. There are no issues with applying the makeup and the staying power of the makeup, the makeup does not roles off the skin with this serum. There is very subtle herbal kind of fragrance in it that fades very quickly.
Guerlain, for years, has had a connection with my feelings of being happy, healthy radiance, freshness, and special. And what could be the best time to feel it other than spring. Spring brings with it the new life, new inspirations, new ideas, and new makeup, yes. Guerlain Spring 2018 collection, named ‘Meteorites Glow With Love’ is all about radiance and complexion perfection. The collection is very stunning and consists of KissKiss LoveLove Lipsticks in 5 shades, Meteorites Heart Shape Glow Shaping-Strobing Palette, and Meteorites CC Glow Color Correcting Highlighters in 3 shades. I will be reviewing the KissKiss LoveLove Lipsticks in shades 570 Coral and 571 Beige, Meteorites CC Glow Color Correcting Highlighters in all 3 shades.
KissKiss LoveLove Lipstick
KissKiss LoveLove Lipstick (CAD $45) is described as the perfect blend of color and luminosity which delivers flawless coverage to offer a vibrant, satiny finish with impeccable hold. The formula is enriched with hyaluronic acid spheres, mango butter and Commiphora Oil which all help in keeping the lips hydrated, plump, soft, and comfortable. The packaging of the lipstick is so beautiful, and as we approach Valentine’s day, in a pink case with rainbow accents. The lipstick bullet is in the shape of a heart and is designed to hug your lips in the right shape of cupids bow. The lipstick has a subtle vanilla and red berries fragrance which fades away in some time.
The lipsticks are very comfortable to wear and the pigment is nice, not intense. My personal preference is sheer or medium pigment for routine, and these sit in my preference. The staying power is good, 3 to 4 hours without drinking or eating anything. The formula did not dry my lips. The packaging is stunning, so I will have one in my handbag and other on my vanity.
Meteorites CC Glow Color Correcting Highlighters
Meteorites CC Glow Color Correcting Highlighters (CAD $50) are color correctors that are designed to target and correct skin tone imperfections while giving radiance and rejuvenating effect. They are based on the principle of Colorimetry which states that two complementary colors cancel each other out when they are layered. Based on it, three color correctors developed by Guerlain are capable of effectively neutralizing minor skin flaws, dark circles, dark spots, or redness.
There are three shades available in these, namely, Rose, Vert, and Abricot.
Vert or Green – helps to neutralize redness
Pink – helps to refresh dull complexions
Abricot – helps to erase areas of shadow and minor dark spots, and also offset the color blue to counter dark circles
The key ingredients include Myrrh resin extract for radiance and tone tired skin, anti-wrinkle peptides for wrinkle repair and correction effect, Centella Asiatica for soothing, and hibiscus fruit to plump and hydrate skin.
Target and correct complexion flaws with the “Tone-Touring” technique, applying 1, 2 or 3 correcting shades. Pink is applied to the forehead and along the top of the cheekbones, bridge of the nose, chin and cupid’s bow. Green is applied to cheeks and the wings of the nose. Apricot is applied above and below the eyes, or to the lip contour to erase shadowy areas and create the impression of volume.
Coming to the Meteorites CC Glow Color Correcting Highlighters, I am a fan of anything Meteorites from the brand. I still have my first jar of Meteorites I bought a few years back and have been buying the limited edition one’s every year as a collector. They are the best when it comes to Meteorites and the Terracotta Bronzing powders, so no doubts about these two. So the Meteorites CC Glow Color Correcting Highlighters have Meteorites name in them, means they are supposed to give the radiance along with correcting the problem areas depending on the skin’s concern. The packaging is in a shiny sleek tube which has a rotating end which when rotated clockwise dispenses product from the brush side.
I have tried all of them, as a tired mommy of two, I am always in need of complexion refresh and to look awake, with few dark spots from my breakouts, luckily I do not have any breakouts since some time now but still have few dark spots and redness. I always make sure to have a nice base, first layering my skincare and then a primer followed by makeup. The primer I am loving and using every day is Guerlain L’Or Radiance Concentrate with Pure Gold reviewed here. The formulas of these Highlighters is fluid yet very smooth, blends in easily with the skin, evens out the skin, and gives a radiant finish.
I am a fan of Dior Addict Lip Glow in Pink 001 and Berry 006 for a few years now and have been repurchasing them since then, these are my most used lip balms with tint. Now that Dior is having new shades and finishes for these color awakening hydrating lip balms, I was so excited at the news and finally to try them. The secret about why they are so loved, that one Dior Lip Glow is sold per 3 seconds around the world, is that it is a perfect balance between makeup and lip care. It implements the famous “Color Reviver” technology, which makes the formula react to the pH level of each person’s lips, releasing the active ingredients and providing a natural flush of customized pink. In terms of comfort, the formula is concentrated in mango butter, ensures optimum continual hydration for 24hrs.
The new launches include fresh and delectable new shades and new finishes in response to the need of every woman. “The 10 new shades in the Dior Lip Glow Collection provide a palette gradation of pinks to suit every skin tone.” Peter Philips, Creative and Image Director for Dior Make-up. The new glow squad now includes:
Dewy – 001 Pink, 004 Coral, 005 Lilac, 006 Berry, 007 Raspberry, 008 Ultra-Pink
Holographic – 009 Holo Purple, 010 Holo Pink
Matte – 102 Matte Raspberry
The Lip Glow Dewy is my most used and loved formula since last few years. It is something that I have in my handbag as well as my desk and vanity. It is very comfortable to wear and is a savior for my dry lips, it gives the most natural tint. These have a color adjusting quality and soft hydrating feel on the lips. These will appear different on everyone’s lips due to its self-adjusting color reviver technology based on everyone’s lip chemistry.
The Lip Glow Matte is like a tinted balm with a blurring effect that enhances lips without giving the impression of wearing makeup. It has nourishing properties due to the formula enriched with mango butter and cranberry oil.The shade on my lips gives a light flush pink velvety matte finish. The formula is a little drying on my dry lips but the natural pink tint it gives to my lips is really pretty, maybe I should always scrub my lips before using this, for the sake of the pretty pink.
The Lip Glow Holo has an iridescent effect and a radiant finish. The formula has an iridescence that reflects the light differently. The formula is comfortable to wear and the holographic shimmering radiance with a discrete touch of iridescence for the illusion of enhanced lips, which still looks very natural and subtle.
Overall, I am a big fan of Dior Lip Glow Balm’s and more additions to the line means more options to choose from. I would highly recommend you to check these out, they are worth checking out if you have never tried these. And If you have already tried them, you will understand what I mean by saying I am a long time fan. I have also reviewed the Diorskin Nude Air Luminizer Glow Addict Edition and 5 Couleurs Eyeshadow palette Glow Addict Edition which are both limited edition and from the Spring 2018 Collection here.
