Omorovicza just launched a new eye cream and I am excited about this new addition to the Vitamin C range of the brand – the Daily Vitamin C Serum is one of my favourite Vitamin C serum’s and I have just emptied my second bottle. So naturally, I was very excited about the new IlluminEye C from the brand. Vitamin C, as an ingredient, helps with skin pigmentation, stimulates the production of collagen, and protects the skin from antioxidant damage.
Apart from all the good things about it, the thing to take care of is that you are using the Vitamin C product in the right condition and state – means it should not be oxidized and that is where is the packaging of the product comes into the picture. Both the Vitamin C products from Omorovicza have very good packaging where the product is not exposed to external air or sunlight and is potent when used, of course, to be used within the time frame it has to be used as mentioned on the packaging.
Omorovicza IlluminEye C brightens, smooths, and revives the delicate eye area. This new eye cream is powered by Vitamin C, A, and E. The creams feel very rich and velvety on the application and once dabbed lightly, it sinks in pretty quickly without feeling heavy on the eye area or irritating my delicate eye area. My eye area looks bright, supple, and alive – even after a long day or short night. This has been a nice addition to my skincare routine and I use it consistently with my Daily Vitamin C serum which I reviewed here in the past.
Apart from the new IlluminEye C, I am also enjoying the Derma Globes from the brand which are limited edition and I am obsessed. I keep them in the fridge for a few minutes and then keep on the eye area or roll them gently around the eye area.
They are so soothing and relaxing. These limited edition Derma Globes are complimentary here when both Daily Vitamin C and IlluminEye C are purchased together. Omorovicza products are available at Nordstrom stores, Four Seasons Toronto, Sephora Canada, and online at www.omorovicza.com.*Press samples
Illamasqua is a British brand that has been pushing boundaries and redefining beauty conventions since the time it was founded. The creation of Illamasqua was inspired by all things subcultural and their mission since the start is to empower all with the confidence to express their true self. And that is why you will always notice there is a very wide array of vivid and vibrant colours with unparalleled pigments with the amazing colour payoff. The brand is led by Pablo Rodriguez, Director of Artistry.
I have used Illamasqua Products in the past when I was visiting the UK a few years back and since then I have this brand on the radar to try more from when I am back in the UK. The good news is that the brand is available now in North America, linked the retailers at the end of this post. I have been using a few products from the brand which I am very excited to share now, including the newest launch from Illamasqua – Beyond Foundation.
Illamasqua Beyond Foundation is a very lightweight, sheer coverage foundation that has an ultra-silky texture. It gives a dewy illuminated glass skin finish. The formula keeps the skin look hydrated, healthy, and fresh, without looking oily throughout the day. The formula blends in very nicely into the skin and looks very natural, with no cakey finish. The shade range is lovely, 25 shades across light, medium, dark with warm, neutral, and cool undertones across the shade range.
The foundation did not accentuate my problem areas and looks very natural on the skin. For my problem skin, I have not experienced any issues but really impressed with the natural dewy finish – now that the weather is cold, I am really looking forward to using it more as I feel it is moisturizing and comfortable on the skin.
Another product I am very impressed with is the Hydra Veil – this started my love for the brand a few years back. I am so glad to have it back in the routine. Hydra Veil is a lightweight gel primer that hydrates and smooths skin. It has microalgae, vitamin C, and B3 that work together to help maintain skin hydration levels, creating a healthy-looking, balanced finish.
There are ingredients that also calm the skin while giving a refreshing feeling. I apply this Hydra Veil and wait for few minutes before I proceed with my foundation. For me, it is a makeup product with skincare benefits. The skin feels comfortable, calm, soothed, smooth after the application, and makes a perfect base for the foundation. The skin looks healthy and dewy with a natural glow.
Illamasqua Color Veil is a long-wearing, intensely pigmented blush. The formula is very easy to apply and blend, the texture is silky soft and jelly-like. It feels hydrating, comfortable, and refreshing on the skin. I love the finish of this blush, very natural and radiant colour. It is different from the other cream blushes I have tried until now – in terms of the texture, feel, and finish. The formula is thick and pigmented, so a little is all I need.
I have the shade entice and it is a warm-pinky nude that looks great on my medium skin tone with golden undertones. Apart from using it as a blusher, I have also tried it on my eyes as an eyeshadow and looks lovely. I am really impressed with the Color Veil.
Illamasqua Beyond Liquid Highlighter in OMG is an illuminating liquid highlighter that works great to give a dewy skin if used all over the face or a natural, radiant glow if used on high points of the face to enhance the overall look. The highlighter blends seamlessly and looks like a second skin. The shade OMG is a champagne pearl shimmer and is suitable for all skin tones. I love mixing it with my moisturizer and it gives the most beautiful and radiant look that looks very natural. It is very pigmented and a little is all you need, whether using it as a highlighter or mixing it with the base.
Illamasqua Powder Blusher in excite is a vivid apricot shade with a matte finish. The formula is finely milled, very pigmented and blends in nicely to give a nice pop of colour. Being matte, it does not look flat on the face but gives a beautiful vibrant finish. I would suggest to use a light hand when using this blush and work on blending it. The shade looks very bright, shimmery, and dark coral in the pan but looks even more beautiful on my medium skin tone.
Illamasqua Gel Sculpt is a very unique contouring gel that gives a subtle definition to the cheeks with minimal effort. The water-based formula creates a soft shadow under cheekbones, along the jawline or wherever you want to contour like nose, forehead. It blends very easily without any hard lines and looks very natural.
I have the shade Silhouette which is the darkest available and I have to use it twice to get the pigment I prefer on my skin tone. I blend quickly and easily, I would suggest avoiding over-blending. The gel formula is very refreshing. I am impressed with how natural it looks on the face with minimal effort.
Overall, a really amazing brand and products. I have tried all the above products and they all stand out in their categories in terms of performance, shade range, and finish. Illamasqua products are available at the official website here, Lookfantastic US, Lookfantastic UK, and Skinstore.*Press samples
Nars has launched the most perfect palette and mascara for the upcoming fall and winter season including the holidays. Nars Extreme Effects Eyeshadow Palette and Nars Climax Extreme Mascara are the newest launches from Nars which I have been testing for the last few days.
Nars Extreme Effects Eyeshadow Palette is a limited-edition eyeshadow palette with very innovative and impressive finishes. The palette has 12 shades in super matte, shimmer, and latex-like finishes. The formula is very fine and creamy, applies and blends easily. The pigment is amazing and easily buildable to the required intensity.
I really like that this palette can be used for a light day look as well as intense shades for the night look. The longevity is impressive as all Nars eye shadow formulas.
Below are the shade descriptions:
Endowed – shimmering duo chrome neutral (top row – left to right)
Roleplay – matte beige
Take Control – shimmering bronze
Private Eye – shimmering deep wine
Pulsing – shimmering light copper (middle row – left to right)
Full Potential – matte mauve pink
Blow – bright pink peach
Tantric – shimmering soft rose
All The Way – orange pink with gold shimmer (bottom row – left to right)
Code Red – burnt brown red
Staredown – shimmering purple
Uncensored Black – blackest black
Nars Climax Extreme Mascara is the new mascara that I have been really liking lately. Even while working from home and joining the meetings virtually, a little mascara just perks up everything and most essentially – the mood. The mascara is extremely black, delivers volume, and does not smudge or clump or flake. I like that it is long-wearing, stays put for the whole day without irritating my sensitive eye area.
There are conditioning oils that coat the lashes with the deepest and blackest pigment while the brush boosts the lashes for a smooth application from root to tips. It lengthens and thickens the lashes. On my medium lashes, 2 coats are the max to get that fluttery long lashes.
Overall, I am really loving the Nars Extreme Effects Eyeshadow Palette and Nars Climax Extreme Mascara – both are worth checking out. Nars products are available at Sephora, Sephora.ca, and narcosmetics.ca*Press samples
