When you generally think about a loose powder, either of the below things might come into your mind first – loose powder is powdery, makes the skin look matte, something that makes everything look cakey, have to be careful with how much to use – a little extra means you either look ashy or not natural, something that is visible over the face, it won’t suit your skin type or could be other reason. Be it any reason, if you are not a professional or a regular user of loose powder in your makeup routine, I am sure there might be a hesitance before you think of trying or getting one. I am telling you, this Loose Version I am talking about in this post will change your perspective. I have to agree that the Japanese have a way of doing things that are nearest to perfection.
Decorte products have always been on my top shelf when it comes to makeup or skincare. Decorte Loose Powder is one of those products which makes me think why did I not try it before. Decorte Loose Powder is a rich face powder that moistly melts into the skin with the lightness and smoothness of the finest silk. Even it is rich, I have not felt it rich as such – texture-wise or application-wise or even feeling wise.
Decorte Loose Powder blends seamlessly into the skin like a dream, it is finely milled and feels silky soft. It blurs the problem areas including the look of pores and uneven textures for an even and refined look that looks very natural. Based on the shade chosen, it gives a beautiful translucent glow to the skin or sets the makeup for longer wear time. I use a fluffy brush or the puff that is included with the powder. I want to mention that the puff which is included with the Loose Powder is really soft and plush, love how soft it is and application using that puff works really good.
Decorte Loose Powder has Silk Powders coated with moisture bonding molecules ensuring lasting, non-drying comfort during the wear time. My most go-to shades are 30 Terra Cotta, 12 Lucent Beige, and 00 Translucent. The powder does not feel oily on my combination skin but gives me a radiant look. And on the other hand, it does not emphasize the dry areas on my face. The powder is just perfect, both for my oily as well as dry areas on my face.
It feels very lightweight and comfortable on the skin. There is a subtle rose smell that I could smell but it is too subtle and fades quickly. I really like the packaging of the powder, it is a sturdy case with a complimentary puff inside.
It is definitely one of the silkiest face powder I have used. Decorte Loose Powder is available in 6 shades and I have swatched them all below:
10 Misty Beige – A light diffusing non-pearl, matte-finish (more matte than 12 Lucent Beige)
12 Lucent Beige – A non-pearl, translucent finish with just a touch of warmth (less matte than 10 Misty Beige)
11 Luminous Ivory – Elegant perky beige with a fine, pearl-like shimmer (less shimmer/glow than 80 Pink Glow)
80 Pink Glow – Pink shimmer with delicately glittering pearls (less shimmer/glow than 00 translucent)
30 Terra Cotta – A warm, pearly terra cotta for a deeper, healthy lustre
00 Translucent – Translucent, non-pearl finish for a moisturized lustre (wearable shimmer, not chunky but glowy)
I also reviewed and swatched the new shades of Decorte Eye Glow Gem, which is one of my most loved cream eye shadows and the newest Decorte Comfort Day Mist here. Decorte skincare and makeup products are available at Decorte Official Website and Saks Fifth Avenue.*Press samples
Chanel Coco Mademoiselle, a shiver of citrus and the sensual vibration of patchouli, is now available in a new variation called Chanel Coco Mademoiselle L’Eau Privée featuring an unprecedented, sophisticated, and confidential way to wear fragrance. Coco Mademoiselle L’Eau Privée is a light and delicate version of Coco Mademoiselle. It is a fragrance for night, yes truly, the same elegance with some sensuality that is perfect even for bed. It wears like a soft and hazy veil for the skin sheets.
Chanel Coco Mademoiselle L’Eau Privée has become a part of my nightly ritual, I spray it on my skin, hair, and even my negligée. The composition of the fragrance is signed by Olivier Polge, Chanel in-house Perfumer-Creator. Olivier imagined the oriental scent like a watercolour. The wood is toned down to exalt the sparkling freshness of an orange, the softness of the floral accord woven with jasmine absolute and rose petals, and the musky facet around comfy white musk notes that nestle on the pillow. The focus is on the soft and endearing fragrant touch.
The notes of Chanel Coco Mademoiselle L’Eau Privée are:
Top Note: Mandarin Orange
Middle Notes: Jasmine, Rose
Base Note: White Musk
The bottle of the fragrance is elegantly cloaked in a translucent veil. The frosted glass gives a glimpse of the warm fragrance within. L’Eau Privée is written in gold lettering which gives a feel of sensuality.
I am really enjoying Chanel Coco Mademoiselle L’Eau Privée in my nightly ritual before going to bed. I like the idea of a night perfume and a private way of wearing a perfume – something that is created for the nights and not night-outs. It envelopes the skin and creates a soft aura with its fresh veil of rose, jasmine, and musky notes. It is a soft, delicate, pleasant, and comforting scent. It stays close to my skin and lasts a while. It is an amazing addition to the Chanel Coco Mademoiselle line of fragrances.

Nars has a new foundation and new concealer, I couldn’t be happier. The reason is I love Nars makeup bases, especially the Nars Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation (reviewed here) and Nars Sheer Glow Foundation (reviewed here) are my most used foundations for everyday wear. They are so comfortable and look so natural. This new foundation and concealer made me very curious, in the sense that what could be next to perfection ( yes, I mean the above-mentioned foundations are my most-loved, what could be better than them).
Nars Soft Matte Complete Foundation is a full coverage natural-looking matte foundation. While being stated as matte, it still looks natural and radiant, not like a glowy or dewy base but a natural semi-matte finish on my combination skin. It did not emphasize the dry areas on my face nor my problem areas. I felt my skin looked smooth, naturally radiant, and comfortable. I did not notice any oxidation or creasing throughout the day. As with other Nars makeup bases, the longevity of the foundation is very good, it stayed put throughout the day.
Around the middle of the day, I notice a very nice radiant finish, not shiny at all, the time around which the natural oils of the skin mix with the product. I have used it alone over my moisturizer as well as mixed with my moisturizer to use it as a sheer tint. It works very well both ways. Overall, I am liking the performance, the finish, and longevity of the foundation. I do not prefer using a setting powder over this foundation as I prefer a natural finish and not an overly matte one. This foundation is available in 34 shades for all skin tones.
I have swatched the below shades for your reference:
Punjab Medium 1 – medium skin with yellow undertones
Sahel Medium 2.5 – medium skin with peach undertones
Vanuatu Medium 3.5 – medium to medium-dark skin with neutral undertones
Barcelona Medium 4 – medium to medium-dark skin with subtle peach undertones
Syracuse Medium-Deep 1 – medium to medium-dark skin with golden undertones
Tahoe Medium-Deep 2 – medium dark skin with golden undertones
Nars Soft Matte Complete Concealer is now available in new shades. It is a high coverage matte concealer that instantly blurs and smooths uneven texture. It also works nicely to conceal dark spots, under-eye circles, redness, and breakouts with a soft-focus matte effect that stays all day. This creamy concealer blends very nicely and looks very natural on the skin without looking cakey or dry.
I basically use it to conceal my problem areas including dark spots or breakouts. I apply it with a finger or a brush, preferably my finger as I feel the warmth of the skin helps apply and blend it well. And the results are very natural-looking finish. It blurs out the problem area without drying it or feeling heavy. For me, it works pretty well with or without a setting powder. This concealer is available in 30 shades.
I have swatched below shades for your reference:
Medium 2 Ginger – medium skin with golden undertones
Med/Dark 1 Biscuit – medium to medium-deep skin with peach undertones
Medium/Dark 1.5 Sucre D’Orge – medium to medium-dark skin with rich olive undertones
