Cle de Peau Beaute Essential Refining Essence is a new launch for spring/summer 2019, or I should ideally say it is reformulated new version with a new ingredient to address the cause of visible pores. I have been using Cle de Peau Beaute Essential Refining Essence in my skincare routine since last few weeks already.
Essence, if you are not yet aware, is an effective multi-benefit skincare step that is applied after cleansing and balancing the skin and applying targeted serums, before the emulsion or moisturizer. This water-like facial essence is actually a concentrated, gently astringent serum that works to refine and hydrate skin while absorbing excess oil. Unlike most other serums, the essence is applied with a gentle patting motion, which allows this dynamic product to be pushed into the skin and diminish visible pores, even after other serums have been applied. This step has been game-changing in my skincare routine.
Cle de Peau Beaute Essential Refining Essence is a fresh cooling serum that gives a feeling of unclogged pores and reduces surface roughness upon application. It leaves skin thoroughly refined and beautifully matte, with a texture that is exquisitely smooth and radiant.
I have been using this essence since the last few weeks, it has a watery smooth texture. The purple water applies nicely onto the skin and absorbs quickly giving a quick bounce and mattifying effect to the skin instantly and then after few uses I have already noticed minimal breakouts with a noticeable difference in the pore size. Apart from the benefits to my problem skin, it also keeps my skin clear, smooth, my oily areas on the face are in control. It feels refreshingly cool on the skin.
Another thing I have not noticed is that while being mattifying it does not dry out my skin even a little. I tried pressing it into my skin with hands, it works but I prefer using a cotton pad to pat it into the skin. I shake the bottle well to have the purple powder sitting on the bottom of the bottle to mix up as it is a bi-phase formula, then I use it after cleansing, toning and balancing my skin – and before the emulsion or moisturizer. The essence has a fresh, elegant fragrance of natural rose and rare orchid.
Cle de Peau Beaute Essential Refining Essence is definitely a keeper for my skin and is worth checking out. Cle de Peau Beaute products are available at Holt Renfrew, Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom, and Neiman Marcus.*Press samples
Moroccanoil is not a new brand to me, I have been a regular user of the products for a few years. I reviewed my favourites from the brand back in 2015 here which I have repurchased a few times in the past. Since the launch of the New Night Body Serum from the brand this year, I have been really intrigued to give it a try as usually, we see serum’s for face and body is not something we pay much attention except for a moisturizer when I get a chance, not to forget when your kids are banging on the bathroom door when you are taking shower, the time is limited. I am so glad this newly launched product not only had me thinking about how much I care for my body, especially when you are so busy in everyday routine, work, kids, home, it might be the least priority but with time and experience I have become more diligent in giving myself the ‘me’ time I deserve at the end of the day. This serum has become a part of that ritual of ‘me’ time and I am so glad to have it in my routine. Not just this night body serum, I have a few new discoveries from the brand – for hair and body which I have not tried before.
Moroccanoil Night Body Serum is a highly concentrated serum is packed with high-performing ingredients that work together to firm and smooth the skin with every application. The formula includes an antioxidant-rich blend of argan and tsubaki oils to address the loss of firmness and moisture, Holy Basil extracts to help protect skin from environmental stressors and smoothing Vitamin C ester to smooth and strengthen the skin for a more youthful, radiant appearance. For your reference, I have dry skin on the body which becomes itchy if I do not keep it moisturized. Also, this is the first serum I am using for my body.
The texture of the serum is smooth and silky while the consistency is a little thick. I have been using it after a shower and sometimes when I have exfoliated in the shower. The night body serum glides nicely on the skin, takes a little rub to sink into the skin, absorbs nicely into the skin without leaving any greasy residue. The result is nourished, supple skin in the morning. The skin I remember I had in college or when I started working, after which I do not know how time passed and I did not get to think or care much about the skin – that skin seems to be back since I am using this night body serum.
Moroccanoil Pure Argan Oil is 100% pure argan oil which is extremely rich in Vitamin E, essential fatty acids and antioxidants. This luxurious, non-greasy oil provides multiple conditioning and moisturizing benefits for the face, body and hair leaving all three with beauty and shine. It glides on like silk and absorbs quickly for a head-to-toe moisturizing and pampering experience. I do not use this on my face as I have combination skin prone to congestion and this might be too nourishing for me but definitely this would be treated to folks with dry skin. I use it on my body and hair for my weekly nourishing and massage ritual for hair and body. A great tip is to mix 2-3 drops of this oil with my hand cream and it keeps my hands hydrated all day long. For hair, it soothes, nourishes, and calms the scalp as well as hair.
Moroccanoil Body Butter is a luxurious, concentrated body cream that absorbs quickly upon application without leaving behind a greasy residue.
The formula is antioxidant-rich with argan oil, shea, cocoa and mango butters blended together to provide nourishment, while avocado, olive, squalane and pomegranate oils instantly soften and nurture skin. This body butter has the signature Moroccanoil scent, a relaxing and exotic journey inspired by the Mediterranean. There are more versions of the same body butter available with different beautiful scents to elevate the senses and promote relaxation apart from provide the benefits to skin. This is indeed one of my favorite body butters for its scent, long lasting hydration, and the way it makes the skin look supple and fresh.
Apart from the above body care products, I do have two hair products from the brand which I have been really enjoying, both have won many Beauty awards for their performance and feel. Moroccanoil Perfect Defense is a weightless, dry aerosol, heat protective spray. This nourishing, argan oil and vitamin-fueled formula re-hydrates the hair while protecting against the damaging effects of heat styling up to 450⁰F/230⁰C.The spray works nicely on my hair, it is very lightweight, does not leaves any residue or stickiness. It did not dry my hair out but has been a nice addition to my hair styling routine before my heating tools.
Okay for the last product, to tell you the truth that I had no idea there is a shampoo targeting dark hair tones, I had the impression that there is only one kind of shampoo and that works for all hair tones. Moroccanoil Dry Shampoo for dark tones came as a surprise for me, offcourse a pleasant one. And not to forget, it has already won many Beauty awards for the one of its kind. Moroccanoil Dry Shampoo Dark Tones contains ultra-fine, oil-absorbing rice starch that removes buildup and odor, leaving hair instantly clean and refreshed. Its UV-protecting, argan oil-infused formula breaks down instantly, leaving no dull residue and maintaining the natural richness of dark, brunette tones. This dry shampoo does not leaves any white streaks or white residue on my scalp or hair, does not irritate my scalp. With a very hectic schedule at work and home, I have to admit that I can not be my best everyday and there goes my very beautiful just washed hair after a day – that is when this Dry shampoo has come to my aide, specially for its dark tone.
Overall, some amazing new launches and discoveries for me which are going to be in my everyday routine, follow more of my beauty and haircare routine’s on my Instagram. Moroccanoil Products are available at Sephora Canada, lookfantastic, and Morroccanoil official website here.*Press samples
Fresh has always amazed me with the products and ingredients that they use in the products. Rose, the queen of flowers, has been a part of skincare for me since I was in school. Be it the rose water or the freshly plucked rose leaves I used to apply on my face after coming from school in the scorching summer heat or it was the rose syrup used in the drinks to give coolness and relaxation to the body and mind. So it is natural for me to have a soft corner for the rose. Coming back to the topic, Rose Deep Hydration Sleeping Mask is a new mask from Fresh Beauty launched this year, 2019.
Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Sleeping Mask is a 2-step mask that replenishes and locks in moisture overnight, definitely a full night’s rest in a jar. The mask is packed with ingredients that are not just gentle on the skin but they work. The rosewater soothes the skin, damask rose extract smoothens the skin, and hyaluronic acid hydrated and plumps the skin.
‘A high level of hydration is the best thing you can offer your skin while you sleep because your temperature rises which leads to moisture loss.’ explains Fresh Co-founder Lev Glazman. To use this 2-step mask, step 1 is to apply the cooling gel essence to drench the skin with calming rosewater. The ingredients also smooth and hydrate the skin giving supple skin. In step 2, follow with the silky water-cream mask to lock that hydration in.
The mask is suitable for most of the skin types but definitely would be a treat for dry and normal skin types. For my combination skin which handles rose very well since I can remember, this mask is very soothing, calming, and hydrating. I would not say it is heavy or anything, step 1 feels like a lightweight gel and then the creamy step 2 formula sits on pretty well over the step 1 gel. Both of them together melts into the skin nicely and does not feel sticky, I do give it a time to sink in, like I apply the mask and then give it few minutes while I do chores before heading to bed. My skin definitely looks and feels fresh and nice in the morning, it is smooth, soft, and supple. A nice addition to my sleeping mask.
