Givenchy Couture Edition 2020 Makeup Collection has launched with limited edition Le Rouge Lipstick Couture Edition in shade 306 Carmin Escarpin, Prisme Libre Loose Powder Couture Edition in shade 01 Mousseline Pastel, and limited edition L’Interdit.
Givenchy 2020 limited Couture Edition of Le Rouge is available in a silver case with a black lace pattern, not just a lipstick but a perfect fashion accessory. Lace has been so dear to Givenchy and has inspired the house for a long time including the this latest collection. Le Rouge limited edition for 2020 Couture is shade available in shade 306 Carmin Escarpin which also has a unique engraving paying tribute to Hubert de Givenchy. The formula of the lipstick is the original best-selling and cult-favourite formula which I am a fan of, it is very lightweight and comfortable on the lips. It is very pigmented and has a luminous matte finish. The longevity is another thing I love these lipsticks, the same is the case for this limited edition launch.
Givenchy 2020 limited Couture Edition of Prisme Libre in shade 01 Mousseline Pastel is available in a silver case with a black lace pattern, again not just a powder but a perfect fashion accessory. The signature of the House’s creator, Hubert de Givenchy graces the lid, like a seal of tribute. This innovative, cult product has been a part of my blog posts many times, it has been a staple. The Prisme Libre includes four loose powders with complementary shades in a single case. A 4-in-1 harmony for a flawlessly and lastingly mattified, blurred, luminous complexion. Its incredibly fine and weightless texture offers the skin a sheer, velvety, natural finish.
L’Interdit Edition Couture 2020 is the original Eau de Parfum sublime in a collector bottle dressed up in lace. An exclusive couture interpretation in tribute to Maison’s creations. The floral woody fragrance has the following notes:
Top Notes: Bergamot, Pear
Middle Notes: Orange Blossom, Jasmine, Tuberose
Base Notes: Patchouli, Vetiver, Vanilla, Ambroxan
I know I have shared the Lunar New Year Launches from the house on my Instagram a few times but sharing it here in case you missed my Instagram posts. Givenchy launched limited editions of its cult Prisme Libre loose powder and its iconic Le Rouge lipstick for the fifth year in row. Both products are dressed up in a vintage look inspired by old Givenchy caps: red vinyl leather bearing the golden 4G logo for Prisme Libre, and a red vinyl leather case with golden 4G logos for Le Rouge. Red, the emblematic colour of China’s Spring Festival, recalls joy and happiness. Then there’s gold, a bright and precious hue, the symbol of prosperity.
Givenchy Lunar Year 2020 Le Rouge and Prisme Libre are available in best-seller shades: Prisme Libre No. 5 Satin Blanc combines four complementary
pastel shades for an even, matte and luminous glow on the skin and for the lips, Le Rouge No. 316 Orange Absolu – a bright pop of orange with a velvety finish.
Givenchy also launched a limited edition package of Le Rouge to celebrate Valentine’s Day this year 2020. I would say it is not just to celebrate one day but every day if love. I have had it in my collection, on my vanity since it was launched and every time I see it, it makes my heart happy.
The limited-edition case is decorated with red velvet lips, a pattern which was dear to Hubert de Givenchy and reinterpreted by Clare Waight Keller in the Resort Spring-Summer 2018 Collection. This limited edition highlights the N°333 L’Interdit emblematic shade – an intense and sensual red lipstick with a smooth, creamy formula that enhances the lips while delivering intensely pigmented colour from the first stroke.
Overall, so elegant and beautiful launches from Givenchy – one of the best new launches I always look forward to. I always get inspired by the innovation and the elegance of the house. Givenchy Beauty products are available at Holt Renfrew and Sephora.ca.*Press samples
MALIN+GOETZ has just launched in Canada and I am so happy to try a few of the products and able to relate with their philosophy and idea behind the brand – and also why there is a cult following this brand around the world. Family-owned and operated, Malin & Goetz apothecary launched in NYC’s Chelsea neighbourhood in 2004. It focused on the needs of women and men with sensitive skin. Matthew Malin and Andrew Goetz – the founders of the brand have developed easy-to-use products to be both gentle and effective for multiple skin conditions. The formulas blend trusted natural ingredients with performance technologies for the face, body and hair. On the fragrance side, both for personal and home scents, their perfumes and Brooklyn-made candles highlight that they do not use synthetic fragrances in their treatments, offering beautiful sensory experiences and luxurious gift-giving options.
I have been using, actually almost more than halfway through the Peppermint Shampoo and Cilantro Hair Conditioner. The duo is really gentle and nourishing for the hair. The natural peppermint and cilantro scent is very uplifting in the shower. The shampoo foams nicely, is gentle, does not irritate the scalp, does not dry the hair. The naturally clarifying peppermint extract and amino acid-based cleansing agents in it gently but effectively nurture the hair and scalp without drying, stripping, or leaving buildup.
The conditioner is very lightweight, hydrates, and adds shine without being too heavy. It is gentle enough to be used even as a leave-in conditioner or even as a styling add. I have not used it as a styling aid but works well both as a conditioner in the shower or as leave-in, make sure to use appropriate amount depending on using it both ways. The natural cilantro extract and absorbent fatty acids to effectively hydrate the hair and scalp.
For body care, I have been using the Bergamot Hand + Body Wash and Eucalyptus Deodorant. Bergamot Hand + Body Wash is a lightweight gel-based foaming body cleanser. It is infused with refreshing bergamot, amino acids, and glycerin to hydrate and purify skin without drying or stripping. The hand and body wash lathers into a luxurious foam, cleanses and nourishes all skin types, including sensitive. Overall, a refreshing experience without leaving a lasting scent.
Eucalyptus Deodorant is one of the best-selling products of the brand and of course I was so excited to try this as I was looking for alternatives from my decade long deodorant which I have not been able to part with. This deodorant is an aluminum-free, alcohol-free deodorant stick that is infused with natural eucalyptus extract and citronellyl to help control underarm odour. Not just aluminum and alcohol, this deodorant is formulated without parabens, baking soda, or synthetic fragrances, and is suitable for all skin types, especially sensitive. It also absorbs residue-free and never stains clothing. I have been using it non-stop – it does not irritate my under-arm area and is effective almost until the end of the day on me. It is not sticky and the smell is not overpowering.
For the face, I have been using the Vitamin E Face Moisturizer and Grapefruit Face Cleanser. Vitamin E Face Moisturizer is formulated with soothing chamomile fatty acids and vitamins E and B5 to nurture and soothe skin, suitable for all skin types, especially combination, oily, and sensitive. The moisturizer is lightweight, gently hydrates and refreshes the skin. It is comfortable on the skin and kept my skin hydrated all day – both under makeup and on its own. The skin is not dewy or very matte, just naturally radiant and without any residue.
Grapefruit Face Cleanser is a lightweight foaming gel cleanser with grapefruit extracts and hydrating amino acids. I am really loving this cleanser, it is so gentle on my problem skin, does not dry it out. The bestselling formula gently but thoroughly nurtures and hydrates skin. It is also perfect for makeup removal, including eye makeup, and rinses free of residue, suitable for all skin types, especially sensitive. It is the perfect morning cleanser or second cleanser for the evening – the scent and texture are both relaxing and uplifting for senses.
Last but not the least, the fragrance – Leather Perfume Oil which has been in my routine for the winter and even now, when we are officially in spring but still bearing with the snow and rainstorms. It is inspired by traditional apothecary ingredients, formulated for everyday wear and gender-neutral appeal. This vegetarian and cruelty-free formulation has a long-lasting scent and can be layered with other fragrances in unexpected pairings. The Leather perfume oil is an earthy woody scent with key notes of Lotus Flower, Leather, Cedarwood. Leather Perfume Oil is a modern update that has the elegance of smooth leather and the softness of a well-worn vintage find. Immediately recognizable and universally appealing, leather is a texture and scent that inevitably evokes feelings of nostalgia. The roll-on version is perfect to keep it with me on the go.
Overall, a lovely brand with some amazing products to choose from – everything from hair, skin, body, and fragrance. MALIN+GOETZ products are available in Canada at Sephora Canada.*Press samples
Moroccanoil has launched new styling tools and also upgraded the existing ones. Moroccanoil has been the most loved and raved about the brand for argan-infused beauty products for hair and skin. The brand has expanded its range of styling products with two new products. The complete range includes two new releases—the Smooth Style Ceramic Heated Brush and Power Performance Ionic Hair Dryer—as well as the upgraded Smart Styling Infrared Hair Dryer, Perfectly Polished Titanium Flat Iron, and Everlasting Curl Titanium Curling Iron.
From the complete range of styling tools, I was most interested in trying out the New Power Performance Ionic Hair Dryer and the upgraded Perfectly Polished Titanium Flat Iron. So here I am, after using these both hair styling tools for over a month, sharing my thoughts. Just to mention here that the styling tools are designed keeping in mind the demands of professional stylists – so as to be as efficient in terms of performance as well as time.
The new Moroccanoil Power Performance Ionic Hair Dryer, with its high-performance 1,750 watts AC motor ensures durability while the quiet, lightweight design offers control and comfort to use and carry it. I have noticed reduced drying time from my other drier (comparing to the t3 here. I used t3 and Dyson interchangeably before this dryer came into my routine). It minimizes static, leaving hair shiny and smooth. The speed-dry nozzle and curl-defining diffuser are also part of the package. Ultra-fast airspeed is definitely a plus for high-efficiency fast styling.
Moroccanoil has also updated its titanium flat iron with advanced technology and ergonomic design that combine form, function, and versatility. Titanium allows for quick heat transfer and superior heat conduction. The Perfectly Polished Titanium Flat Iron features extra-long titanium plates for quick heat transfer, superior heat conduction, and an effortless glide for a range of silky, frizz-free styles—from sleek and shiny to wavy and curly.
The plates glide on effortlessly and smoothly on the hair. Apart from the performance, ergonomic design, it also heats quickly in under 60 seconds and shuts off automatically after one hour. There is also a digital display for precise temperature control up to 450°F. There is a heat-resistant pouch included in the package. It has been doing a wonderful job straightening my hair – I have to pass the hair once or twice depending on the temperature I have set the iron on or the results I am looking for – pin-straight or natural straight. I have medium wavy hair for your reference.
