It has been a nice week so far, it is summer and feels like summer, indeed very hot. With every season, skin tends to deviate from what it was liking or what was suiting the skin in one season might not be giving the same results in a different season. Cleansing water and facial mists are something that you can use all year round and will have the same results if they suit your skin. I love trying new products for cleansing and for freshening up. I reviewed the brightening cleanser and face masks from Rodial a few weeks back here and they are still on rotation, they mainly target to brighten the skin. Today I am sharing two new launches from Rodial which target cleansing and re-energizing the skin.
You might be thinking what is Dragon’s Blood referred here. If you are not aware, Dragon’s Blood is sourced from the red sap of the ‘sangre de drago’ tree and works to form a second skin-like protective film on the skin. It helps protect against environmental damage and contain anti-inflammatory properties.
Rodial Dragon’s Blood Cleansing Water (CAD $45) is the new addition to Rodial’s dragon’s blood range. It is a gentle, hydrating, and soothing cleanser which removes makeup and impurities with refreshing rose water while dragon’s blood soothes stressed skin. It is a non-sting, no rinse formula. The triple action cleanser illuminates and evens skin tone for an instantly brighter complexion. Along with the dragon’s blood, the rose water in this cleansing water soothes and refreshes the skin with decongesting activity while reducing swelling and deep cleansing. Vit B3 in it brightens and illuminates the skin tone, reducing melanin accumulation in the epidermis.
I have been using it with a cotton pad on my face and even the eyes, it does not sting my eye area and removes makeup nicely. I do follow with a second cleanse to make sure no traces are left on my skin. I feel my skin is not dry and tight after cleansing with this but it is cleansed, purified, soothed, and soft. Skin appears bright and does not cause any redness or irritation on my problem areas. The packaging of this cleansing water is another plus, as you see in the picture, it is a nice clear bottle with a press pump, means you put the cotton pad over the top and press it. This is a really nice cleansing water which I am liking to first cleanse my skin when I am wearing makeup and even when I am just wearing sunscreen over my normal skin care.
Rodial Dragon’s Blood Essence Mist(CAD $52) is a lightweight mist which needs to be applied after cleansing to deliver active ingredients deep into the skin or at all times of the day to re-energize. It is created with 1% vitamin b to protect against aging environmental factors and 1% hydroveg R, which is exclusive to Rodial, to deeply nourish and hydrate the skin. It is infused with a blend of intelligent ingredients that react to sun exposure to listen to your skin’s needs around the clock.
I use this mist after cleansing my face and before using my serum or to set makeup. I close my eyes and spray directly onto face after cleansing to prep it for the next step which is usually a serum. It works nicely to set my makeup and also to refresh during the day. It feels very soothing on the skin and makes the skin feeling energized. The mist is very fine and light does not feel heavy or makes the skin look oily. It just makes it bright and beautiful.
Rodial Dragon’s Blood Cleansing Water and Rodial Dragon’s Blood Essence Mist launched in June this year, 2018 and is available at Murale and beautyboutique by Shoppers Drug Mart in Canada.
