Nars Cosmetics has been one of my favorite brands, I have reviewed products from this brand in the past here and on my social handles. Who does not loves a glowy and radiant face, and I was so excited when this foundation launched this year. In a foundation, what I look for is how it blends into my skin, if it oxidizes or not, does it makes my imperfections more prominent, like instead of covering the areas it may emphasize them, if the color matches my skin tone, and last but not the least, I love a dewy finish, not oily but radiant healthy glow. I have been using Nars Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation since last few weeks to test it and here with my thoughts now.

Nars Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation

Nars Cosmetics describes the Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation (CAD $60) as its first 16-hour fade-resistant foundation with full-powered radiance. It is medium to full coverage stays vibrant and fresh during the day. The staying power is enhanced by a patent technology that delivers a uniquely weightless texture with superior blendability for an imperceptible effect that looks like skin. The foundation is formulated to improve skin hour by hour with skin optimizing complex which is a blend of raspberry, apple, and watermelon extracts that helps support skin’s elastic fibers to smooth and improve skin texture, while specialized pigments recognize and fuse with the skin for the closest match. It is available in 33 skin-matching shades, ranging from deep espresso to the fairest tones.

Nars Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation

Nars Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation is a medium to full coverage foundation, which is easily buildable. The formula is opaque and a little, pearl size is all that is needed for full coverage. I use a primer to smooth out the base and then apply this foundation with my brush or beauty blender. It blends very easily into the skin, giving a very natural, radiant, and luminous finish. I did tend to pump out extra product sometimes and I have noticed, if I apply a little extra, it starts to emphasize my dry areas or start clinging to them. So the best way is to exfoliate my face while doing my skincare routine and then follow the normal foundation routine.

Nars Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation

I am really impressed with the staying power of this foundation, it stays on very well for 12 hours or more. It is not transfer-proof if I am not setting it with a powder or setting spray. Even after using a setting powder or spray, there is a little bit of transfer, but that is normal with other foundations I have tried. I did not notice any oxidation during the day and the pictures from the camera and flash looked very natural with this one. One more thing I want to mention is that it did cover my spots and pigmentation, which is why I did not feel the need to use a concealer. The packaging of the foundation is in a heavy glass bottle with a pump, which looks very classic and chic. My skin tone is medium tan with golden undertones and I was matched Syracuse and Barcelona.

Nars Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation

Syracuse – Medium – Dark with brown undertones

Barcelona – Medium with golden, peachy undertones

Nars Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation

Top – Syracuse, Bottom – Barcelona

Overall, I am really loving the natural, radiant, and glowy finish which is what I prefer and like. A little is all I need to use for my full face and I do not feel the need of using a concealer. I usually do not follow with a loose powder to set as I prefer radiant finish on my face. At the end of the day, it is a little more dewy around my forehead and nose area, for which I retouch with a pressed powder on the go. I have combination skin for our reference and it did not irritate or had my skin break out. Another good thing is the shade range with different undertones to suit a wide range of skin colors. So, all in all, a product worth checking out.

Nars Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation is available at Sephora, Sephora Canada, Hudson’s Bay, Lookfantastic, House of Fraser,  Nordstrom, Saks, and Neiman Marcus.

Continued from my previous post here, this post is for the review and swatches of the products in the holiday 2017 collection. Complimenting the Man Ray For Nars Holiday 2017 Color Collection, Man Ray For Nars Holiday 2017 Gifting Collection has some beautiful palettes and lip pencils in the famous signature formulas of Nars Cosmetics. The Gifting collection is described as Think outside of the box with a covetable collection of artful sets inspired by the bold minimalism and iconic muses of Man Ray’s fashion photography.

Glass Tears Eyeshadow Palette (CAD $62)

This palette has six richly pigmented eyeshadows in new, limited edition shades. The shade range is matte and shimmering to create anything from soft to smoldering effects. The packaging is sturdy and high quality as usual for Nars and the picture on the packaging contemplates with the name of the palette.

The shades in this palette are so versatile, and when I see a beautiful green, I am all in. The shades include (Left to Right in palette and top to bottom on the swatches), all are limited edition:

Crybaby – Matte Cream

Heartbreaker – Shimmering Deep Ocean

Loverboy – Matte Black

Tryst – Shimmering Gold

One and Only – Shimmering deep moss

Vengeance – Shimmering rich brown

The formula is soft and fine, easily blendable. The selection of shades is one of the nicest I have seen and the quantity of product is 2.4g in each pan which is quite good. Glass Tears Eyeshadow Palette is available at Hudson’s Bay, Nordstrom, Murale, and beautyBoutique by Shoppers Drug Mart.

The Kiss Velvet Matte Lip Pencil Set (CAD $62)

This limited edition gifting set is Sephora exclusive and has four full-size Velvet Matte Lip Pencils. The Velvet Matte Lip Pencil is one of the other coveted product from the brand. I have repurchased the Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in one of my favorite shade Cruella many times which I have both in my bag and on my vanity, as I am a fan of the formula, never dries out my lips and color payoff is good, along with staying time.

In this set, there are two new limited edition and two existing shades which are sealed with a golden kiss of a cosmetic case.  The cosmetic case as you can see in the pictures as well, the quality and details of lips is beautiful, definitely a great gift as well as a purchase for yourself.

Shades include (Top to bottom in the swatches below):

Photogloss Lip Lacquer – Zambeze – red hazelnut

The Kiss Velvet Matte Lip Pencil Set shades:

Endangered Red – Bordeaux

Spell Bound – Shimmering pink beige (Limited Edition)

Tondra – Rust

Wild Ways – Mahogany (Limited Edition)

As mentioned, I am a fan of this formula since few years and these are definitely a keeper. The Kiss Velvet Matte Lip Pencil Set is available at Sephora and Sephora Canada.

Overall I am really impressed with the collection of shades both in the eyeshadow palette as well as the Velvet Matte Lip Pencils.

Nars Love Triangles

Nars Love Triangles (CAD $32) are the collection of the famous shades from Nars Blush and the complimenting Nars Lipstick. They are perfect for gifting as well as keeping them in your bag for on-the-go. I do own the full sizes of Orgasm blush and Dolce Vita blush but these are so cute and will be great travel partners for me. If you want to try any of the shades available along with the lipstick, these are the perfect little sets. The quality and the color payoff is same as the original full sizes.

Nars Love Triangle – Orgasm has universally flattering Orgasm shade in a mini blush and Lipstick. Orgasm blush is a peachy pink shade with golden shimmer. Orgasm lipstick is a peachy pink shade with golden shimmer and satin finish. Nars Love Triangle Orgasm is available at Sephora and Sephora.ca.

The excitement of holiday season is already here with this beautiful Man Ray for Nars Holiday 2017 Collection. Okay first of all, if you do not know, Man Ray was an American Visual Artist who spent most of his career in France. He was a renowned representative of avant-garde photography in the 20th-century and is considered as the pioneer of Surrealist photography. Ray’s artistic work is very diverse. He was a painter, object artist, and a filmmaker. He was the very first artist whose images were more valuable to collectors than his artistic work. He, therefore, made a significant contribution to the evaluation of photography as a form of art. And when you see the collection with his name, it has to be more Artistic as he was. The moment I glanced at the collection, I knew Nars Cosmetics has done it again, with the collection of products, shades, packaging, and formula.

The moment I glanced at the collection, I knew Nars Cosmetics has done it again, with the collection of products, shades, packaging, and formula. From the collection reviewed in this post, the swatch for Photogloss Lip Lacquer – Zambeze – red hazelnut is in the next post linked here.

NARS x Man Ray Blush – Fetishized (CAD $38)

When it comes to blushes, Nars is an authority, I do own few blushes from Nars which are one of my favorite formula’s and I trust them for their staying power too. Just one swipe of the blush and it gives the healthiest natural color to cheeks which enlivens the complexion. Also, the collection of shades is really versatile and will suit most of the skin tones.

Man Ray For Nars Holiday 2017 Collection

Fetishized Blush is a Pink grapefruit shade which looks very bright in the packaging but on the skin, it looks very flattering. One single swipe and I have beautiful flush to the cheeks. The formula is same as the other Nars blushes which are very fine and easily blendable. The finish is described shimmery but once applied, there is no shimmer or sparkle but only glow. The formula, as other Nars Blushes, is long-wearing and it lasted on me for the whole day without any touch-ups.

NARS x Man Ray Duo Eyeshadow – Montparnasse (CAD $43)

First of all, I liked the name of this eyeshadow Duo when I first heard of it as it reminds me of my first trip to Paris when I visited the area. As the blushes, eyeshadow duos from Nars are as famous and loved due to their formula and shades. Montparnasse Duo Eyeshadow has shimmering gold on the left side and Iridescent Orchid on the right side.

Man Ray For Nars Holiday 2017 Collection

The duo is so dynamic and can be combined to create endless effects. Both shades compliment each other and can be worn alone too. There is nothing better when you have a versatile eyeshadow duo which you can use any time of the day. The formula is very fine and easily blendable. With primer, they stay put throughout the day on my oily lids.

NARS x Man Ray Velvet Eyeliner (CAD $31)

Nars eyeliners are known for their formula and shade range. In Man Ray for Nars Holiday 2017 Collection, the limited edition velvet eyeliner, Nagoya Velvet Eyeliner, is a violet shade.

Man Ray For Nars Holiday 2017 Collection

The formula is very smooth, creamy, and glides easily. It can be used in multiple ways, to blend, smudge, and intensify the eyes. This is a unique shade and will look nice this holiday season as well as summer.

NARS x Man Ray: Overexposed Glow Highlighter (CAD $52)

Overexposed Glow Highlighter is described to give the second-skin luminosity in a universally flattering shade. The embossing on the highlighter is the first thing that catches the eye. The next thing is the formula, it is very smooth and buttery. I have medium tan skin and this highlighter seriously looks like the second skin, it blends in so well with the skin and the shade is so beautiful.

Man Ray For Nars Holiday 2017 Collection

It provides a beautiful glow minus any glitter or sparkle. Another thing is the highlighter looks more champagne from one angle and more golden from other angle but the end results are very flattering.
